AC Input 2 (Secondary) Secondary connection for an alternative grid or generator source, also with a 100A transfer switch. AC Output 1 (Main) Provides uninterruptible power with a switchover time of less than 20 milliseconds, ideal for critical loads. AC Output 2 (Auxiliary) Active only when an AC input source is available, suitable for non-essential loads that should not discharge the battery. Adaptive 4-Stage Charging Microprocessor-controlled charging algorithm (Bulk, Absorption, Float, Storage) optimises battery health and lifespan. Typical Applications Application Description Off-Grid Homes & Cabins Provides reliable 230V AC power from battery banks, seamlessly integrating with solar and generator inputs. Backup Power Systems Ensures continuous power during grid failures with rapid, automatic transfer for essential loads. Marine & RV Systems Manages multiple AC sources (shore power, generator) and efficiently charges batteries for mobile applications. Commercial & Industrial Scalable solutions for larger power demands, supporting parallel and three-phase configurations. Hybrid Solar Systems Integrates with solar chargers and the grid for optimised self-consumption and energy independence. Built-In Protection Functions The Victron Quattro 24/8000/200-100/100 includes comprehensive protection features to ensure safe and reliable operation. These include safeguards against output short circuit • overload • battery overvoltage • battery undervoltage • overheating • 230 VAC on inverter output • and excessive input voltage ripple. Common Questions What is the primary difference between the Victron Quattro and MultiPlus? The Quattro features two independent AC inputs and two AC outputs, allowing connection to two distinct power sources (e.g., grid and generator) and managing essential/non-essential loads separately. The MultiPlus typically has one AC input. Can this Quattro model be expanded for higher power? Yes, up to six Quattro units can be connected in parallel for increased power output. Three units can also be configured for true three-phase operation, offering significant scalability. What is PowerAssist technology? PowerAssist intelligently supplements limited AC input power (from a generator or shore connection) with additional power drawn from the battery. This prevents overloads on the input source and allows for the use of smaller generators. Is remote monitoring available for this unit? Yes, when connected to a Victron GX device (e.g., Cerbo GX), the Quattro can be monitored and controlled locally or remotely via the free Victron VRM portal website and app, accessible from various devices. Installation Notes Professional installation by a qualified electrician or certified solar installer is strongly recommended to ensure safety and compliance with local regulations. Always refer to the official Victron Energy product manual for detailed wiring diagrams, safety guidelines, and commissioning procedures specific to the Quattro 24/8000/200-100/100. Ensure adequate ventilation and clearance around the unit to prevent overheating and maintain optimal performance. Proper battery bank sizing, DC cabling, and AC wiring are crucial for the system's efficiency, safety, and longevity. Before You Buy Verify your existing or planned system's DC voltage (24V) to ensure compatibility with this inverter/charger. Calculate your total power requirements (VA/W) for both continuous and peak loads to confirm the 8000VA capacity is sufficient. Consider your AC input sources (grid, generator) and how the dual inputs will integrate into your specific energy setup. Plan for appropriate battery bank capacity to support your desired autonomy and discharge rates. Consult with a renewable energy specialist if you are unsure about system design or compatibility. Specifications are based on manufacturer data and may be subject to change. Always consult the official Victron Energy datasheet for the most current information.
