The Quattro automatically selects the active source. AC Output 1 (UPS) Provides true no-break functionality with a switchover time of less than 20 milliseconds, ensuring uninterrupted power for critical loads. AC Output 2 Only active when an AC input source is available. Ideal for non-essential loads that should not discharge the battery, such as water heaters or air conditioning. Adaptive Charging Microprocessor-controlled 4-stage charging optimises battery life and performance across various battery types. Typical Applications Application Description Off-Grid Systems Provides reliable AC power for remote homes, cabins, and commercial sites independent of the national grid. Backup Power Solutions Ensures continuous power supply during grid outages, safeguarding essential appliances and systems. Hybrid Energy Systems Integrates seamlessly with solar PV, grid, and generator inputs for optimised energy management and self-consumption. Marine & Vehicle Installations Robust design and dual AC inputs make it suitable for boats, yachts, and large recreational vehicles. Built-In Protection Functions The Victron Quattro is equipped with comprehensive safety features to protect both the unit and your energy system. These include protection against: Output short circuit • Overload • Battery overvoltage • Battery undervoltage • Overheating • IP21 enclosure rating for environmental protection. Common Questions What is the main difference between a Victron Quattro and a MultiPlus? The primary difference is that the Quattro features two AC inputs and two AC outputs, whereas the MultiPlus has a single AC input and two AC outputs. This allows the Quattro to connect to two independent AC sources, such as grid and generator, and automatically switch between them. Can this unit be used for grid-tied applications in the UK? Yes, the Victron Quattro 48/8000/110-100/100 is G99 approved, making it suitable for grid-tied (on-grid) applications in the UK, enabling compliant integration with the national grid. What are PowerAssist and PowerControl features? PowerControl prevents overloading of a limited AC source (like a generator or shore power) by reducing battery charging. PowerAssist supplements the incoming AC power with additional power from the battery when the demand exceeds the source's capacity, preventing overloads and allowing for smaller generators. What is the VE.Bus system? VE.Bus is Victron Energy's communication protocol that allows multiple Victron devices to communicate and work together as a single system. It enables advanced features like parallel and three-phase operation, remote monitoring, and system configuration via GX devices and the VRM portal. Installation Notes Installation should be carried out by a qualified professional in accordance with local electrical regulations and safety standards. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit to prevent overheating, especially in enclosed spaces. Verify correct battery voltage (48V) and capacity compatibility before connecting. Properly size DC cabling to the battery bank to minimise voltage drop and ensure safe operation. Refer to the official Victron Energy manual for detailed installation instructions and wiring diagrams. Before You Buy Confirm your system's DC voltage requirement is 48V to match this Quattro model. Calculate your total AC load requirements to ensure the 8000VA (6400W) continuous output is sufficient. Consider your battery bank's capacity and type to ensure compatibility with the 110A adaptive charger. Measure available installation space, noting the dimensions of 470 x 350 x 280 mm and weight of 41 kg. Plan for the two AC input sources you intend to use (e.g., grid, generator, shore power). Always verify product specifications and compatibility with your specific system requirements before purchase. This product is covered by a 5-year manufacturer warranty.
