Sizing instructions: https://www.thekenyancollection.com/pages/sizing-instructions Each dog collar is available in four different widths to suit your pet's comfort and style: Narrow: 1/2" wide Standard: 3/4" wide Wide: 1" wide Lurcher: 2" wide, tapering to 3/4" at the buckle Each creation is meticulously handcrafted by skilled Maasai Mamas using premium, durable leather, with hand-cast buckles and clasps. Crafting one collar takes a Maasai Mama about a day, while a belt requires two days of dedicated beading. The beads are carefully hand-sewn onto the first layer of leather, followed by the addition of high-quality hardware and a second leather layer, which is glued and stitched for added softness and durability. Our Maasai Mamas are encouraged to infuse each piece with their personal artistic touch, preserving the rich heritage and cultural integrity of their work. This commitment to individuality means that slight variations in design are part of the charm and uniqueness of each item, ensuring that no two are ever the same. The Significance of Color: Red: Symbolizes bravery, strength, and unity, reflecting the Maasai Tribe’s resilience and determination. Purple: Represents wealth, pride, and creativity, showcasing the Maasai Tribe’s vibrant spirit and craftsmanship. Blue: Mirrors the sky, providing water and sustenance for both the Maasai people and their livestock. Green: Echoes the land that nurtures and sustains life, signifying nourishment, growth, and territorial protection. Orange: Reminds of the gourd used to share milk with guests, embodying hospitality, generosity, and warmth. Yellow: Represents the sun’s role in fostering growth and sustaining life, symbolizing fertility and prosperity.
