It features automatic 12V/24V system voltage recognition, though the 60W panel is typically paired with 12V setups. Typical Applications Application Description Campervans & Motorhomes Ideal for maintaining leisure battery charge and powering essential DC appliances during travel. Marine Vessels Suitable for boats and yachts to power navigation, lighting, and small electronic devices. Off-Grid Cabins & Sheds Provides energy for basic lighting, device charging, and small pumps in remote locations. Remote Power Systems Can power electric fences, gates, and pond pumps where mains electricity is unavailable. Built-In Protection Functions The included 10A charge controller features comprehensive self-diagnostics and electronic protection functions to safeguard your system. These include protection against battery overcharge, deep discharge, and reverse current drain from the battery back to the panel at night. The rigid solar panel itself is constructed with durable materials designed to withstand various weather conditions. Common Questions What does this Solar Technology 60W Rigid Solar Panel Kit include? This kit typically includes the 60W rigid solar panel and a 10A charge controller, along with necessary cables and terminals for connection. Is this kit suitable for 12V or 24V battery systems? The included 10A charge controller is designed for 12V battery systems, though it has 12V/24V automatic recognition for broader compatibility with other controllers in the range. How much power can I expect from this 60W solar panel daily? Under ideal UK sunlight conditions, you can typically expect around 20.94 Amp-hours per day from this 60W panel. Actual yield will vary based on weather, shading, and time of year. Why is a charge controller necessary for this solar panel kit? A charge controller is crucial for panels 20W and above to prevent overcharging your battery, which can significantly shorten its lifespan, and to stop current from flowing back to the panel at night. Installation Notes Mounting: Ensure the solar panel is securely mounted in a location that receives maximum unobstructed sunlight throughout the day. Consider using appropriate mounting brackets for your specific application (e.g., roof, deck). Wiring: Connect the solar panel to the included charge controller, and then connect the charge controller to your 12V battery. Always follow the wiring instructions provided with the kit and observe correct polarity. Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the charge controller to prevent overheating, especially in enclosed spaces. Professional Advice: For complex installations or if you are unsure, it is recommended to consult with a qualified solar installer. Before You Buy Power Requirements: Calculate your daily energy needs to ensure a 60W panel is sufficient for your intended use. Space & Mounting: Verify the dimensions (670 x 640 x 35mm) to ensure the panel fits your desired installation area. Battery Compatibility: Confirm that your battery system is 12V and compatible with a PWM charge controller. Additional Components: You may require additional cabling, fuses, and mounting hardware depending on your specific installation. Please verify all specifications and compatibility requirements before purchase. Product specifications are subject to change by the manufacturer.
