The Google search results confirm the specifications and features provided in the original product input. Key verifications: * **Specifications:** All technical specs (Power, Size, Weight, Amp hours per day, Vmp, Imp, Voc, Isc) are consistent across multiple sources. * **ETFE Layer:** Confirmed benefits like self-healing memory effect, UV stability, weather resistance, and anti-slip properties due to dimpled surface. * **Waterproofing:** Confirmed six-layer heavy-duty laminate and silicon-injected junction box for complete encapsulation and water ingress prevention. * **Flexibility:** Confirmed semi-flexible design for flat or slightly curved surfaces (up to 3cm curve per metre). * **Charge Controller:** Crucially, the 5W panel kit *does not* require a charge controller if the battery is larger than 35Ah, due to the integrated blocking diode. This is a key detail. Larger panels (60W and above) *do* require a charge controller. * **Hot Spot Protection:** Confirmed that hot spot protection diodes are typically in larger PV Logic flexi panels (60W and above) and *not* in the 5W model. This is an important clarification. * **Installation:** Bonding with adhesives like Simson ISR 70-03 (or Henkel MS939 Elastic Adhesive) and pre-drilled holes for mechanical fixing are confirmed. The importance of an air gap for cooling is also noted. * **Warranty:** Some sources mention a two-year product warranty for PV Logic flexi panels. I will include this cautiously in the footer. All information from the original input is verified and can be used. Battery Maintenance Provides a continuous, gentle charge to extend the overall lifespan of any 12-volt battery. Built-In Protection Functions The Solar Technology 5W Flexi Solar Panel Kit is engineered for durability and safety. It features an integrated blocking diode to prevent reverse current drain from your battery during periods of darkness, safeguarding battery health. The robust six-layer heavy-duty laminate construction protects the solar cell circuit, while the silicon-injected, waterproof junction box ensures complete encapsulation against water ingress. The ETFE top layer provides enhanced UV stability and a self-healing memory effect for minor abrasions, contributing to the panel's long-term resilience. Please note that hot spot protection diodes are typically found in larger PV Logic flexi panels (60W and above) and are not present in this 5W model. Common Questions Does this 5W panel require a charge controller? No, for batteries larger than 35Ah, a separate charge controller is not required. The panel is fitted with an integrated blocking diode to prevent reverse current drain. Can I walk on the panel? Yes, the PV Logic flexi range, including this 5W panel, features a robust ETFE surface that is designed to be walked on with soft deck shoes. What surfaces can this panel be installed on? The panel can be bonded to flat or slightly curved surfaces (up to 3cm curve per metre) such as painted aluminium, metal, GRP, and fibreglass using suitable adhesives. It also has pre-drilled holes for mechanical fixing. Is the panel supplied with all necessary cables? Yes, the 5W panel kit is supplied with a 4m UV stabilised PV cable, connectors, and a fuse, ready for installation. Installation Notes The PV Logic flexi range can be bonded to flat or slightly curved surfaces (up to 3cm curve per metre) such as painted aluminium, metal, GRP, and fibreglass. Use suitable adhesives like Simson ISR 70-03 or Henkel MS939 Elastic Adhesive, following the manufacturer's recommended glue pattern to ensure adequate airflow beneath the panel and prevent heat build-up. The panel also features pre-drilled 4.5mm holes in the aluminium layer for optional mechanical fixing if preferred. This 5W panel is supplied with a 4m UV stabilised PV cable, connectors, and a fuse for direct connection. Handle the panel carefully before installation to avoid excessive bending, which could damage the solar cells. Before You Buy For battery charging applications, this 5W panel kit does not require a separate charge controller if the battery to be used is larger than 35Ah, as it is fitted with a blocking diode to prevent reverse current drain. For smaller batteries or if you are unsure about your specific setup, it is always advisable to consult the manufacturer's instructions or seek expert advice to ensure optimal battery health and system performance. Always verify the panel's specifications and compatibility with your existing or planned solar setup to ensure it meets your energy requirements. Ensure the chosen installation surface can accommodate the panel's dimensions and curvature (up to 3cm per metre panel length). Specifications are subject to change by the manufacturer.
