S7 is a shock-resistant tool steel engineered for maximum impact toughness — the same class of material used in industrial tooling and dies where standard steels crack, wear, or deform. In a Super Safety trigger bow, it means a component that will outlast the rifle it is installed in. Both the flat and curved share identical Super Safety internals — the trigger shape is the only difference. If you prefer the traditional curved profile, see the S7 Curved Trigger. 100% USA made, in Texas for Triggersupply.com How the 3-Position System Works Position 1 — Safe Standard safe. No fire. Identical to your factory selector. Position 2 — Semi Standard semi-auto. Your trigger fires and resets manually as normal. Position 3 — Active Reset As the BCG cycles, the Super Safety cam mechanically forces the trigger forward before the bolt returns to battery — enabling the fastest follow-up fire your trigger finger can produce. The Super Safety is legal in all 50 states. It requires two separate trigger functions per round fired and does not meet the federal definition of a machinegun under 26 U.S.C. § 5845(b). No federal compliance issues. No state-level restrictions. Ships everywhere in the USA. Why S7 Tool Steel Most Super Safety units ship in 4140 steel — a solid material. S7 is the grade above it, built for applications where impact loads are severe and wear tolerance is zero. Highest impact toughness of any tool steel grade — engineered to absorb shock loads that crack standard tool steel Superior wear resistance — contact surfaces hold their geometry under tens of thousands of rounds where 4140 shows wear Tighter machining tolerances — S7 machines cleanly to tighter specs, meaning zero slop and precise fitment in your lower No degradation over time — maintains hardness and surface integrity under hard use, heat, and environmental exposure 100% USA manufactured — raw material, machining, and finishing are all domestic Curved Trigger — Who It's For The curved-faced trigger bow repositions your finger's natural contact point higher on the trigger face. For most shooters this produces: Reduced perceived pull weight — increased mechanical leverage at the contact point Consistent shot-to-shot finger placement — the traditional curved-indexes your finger the same way every pull Better pull linearity — straight rearward travel with less arc deviation Preferred by competition shooters for its clean, deliberate, repeatable feel Specs Material S7 Tool Steel (shock-resistant, highest available grade) Trigger Style Curved Face System Type 3-Position Active Reset Safety Selector Platform AR-15 (mil-spec lower receiver) Country of Origin 100% USA Made Legal Status Legal all 50 states — not a machinegun BCG Requirement Recommended M-16 Cut Buffer Requirement None Lower Modification Selector pocket and detent only Install Time 20–30 minutes (first-time install) Why Buy From Us Authorized Hoffman Tactical dealer — genuine USA-made product, not gray-market In stock, ships fast — no preorder wait, no backorder Real customer support — we answer our own phones and email, no ticket queue Full lineup stocked — curved trigger, flat trigger, supporting hardware, pre-cut triggers all available ``` Frequently Asked Questions ``` What is the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety? The Hoffman Tactical Super Safety is a 3-position active reset safety selector for AR-15 platforms. It replaces your standard 2-position safety and adds a mechanical trigger reset position. As the BCG cycles, the Super Safety cam contacts the trigger and forces it forward before the bolt returns to battery — enabling the fastest possible follow-up shots without replacing your trigger group. Is the Super Safety curved trigger legal? Yes. The Hoffman Tactical Super Safety is legal in all 50 states. It is an enhanced safety selector — not a machinegun conversion device. It requires two separate trigger functions per round fired and does not meet the federal definition of a machinegun under 26 U.S.C. § 5845(b). No state-level restrictions. Ships everywhere in the USA. What is S7 tool steel and why does it matter? S7 is a shock-resistant tool steel with the highest impact toughness rating of any tool steel grade — the same class used in industrial dies where standard steels crack under repeated impact. In a Super Safety trigger bow, S7 delivers superior wear resistance, tighter machining tolerances, and a component that will outlast the rifle it is installed in. Most Super Safety units ship in 4140 steel. S7 is the grade above. What is the difference between the flat trigger and curved trigger? Both variants use identical Super Safety internals — the only difference is trigger bow geometry. The flat trigger repositions your finger's contact point higher on the trigger face, which reduces perceived pull weight and promotes consistent finger placement shot to shot. The curved trigger follows the natural arc of your finger and feels familiar to shooters transitioning from milspec triggers. Does the Super Safety require a BCG or buffer upgrade? No. The Hoffman Tactical Super Safety works with your existing mil-spec BCG and buffer. No BCG swap, no buffer upgrade, and no lower modification beyond the selector pocket and detent are required. How long does the Super Safety take to install? Most first-time installs take 20–30 minutes. Remove your existing safety selector, install the Super Safety cam, lever, and modified detent in the selector pocket, then install the pre-cut trigger. No specialized tools or lower modification beyond the selector pocket are required. Is this an authorized Hoffman Tactical dealer? Yes.
