Common Questions What type of batteries can this kit charge? This kit's 10A charge controller is compatible with 12V or 24V sealed, gel, and flooded lead-acid batteries. It features automatic voltage selection for convenience. Is this kit suitable for permanent outdoor installation? Yes, the two 20W polycrystalline solar panels feature robust, waterproof designs with sealed aluminium frames, making them ideal for permanent outdoor use in various weather conditions. What is the purpose of the 10A charge controller? The 10A PWM charge controller protects your battery from overcharging and deep discharging, which helps to extend its lifespan. It also prevents reverse current flow from the battery to the panels at night. Can I expand this system with more solar panels? The included 10A controller can handle up to 160W of solar input for a 12V battery system or 320W for a 24V system. You could add more panels up to this limit, ensuring they are compatible with the controller's voltage and current ratings. Installation Notes Always connect the 12V or 24V battery to the controller's battery terminals first. Next, connect the solar panels to the controller's solar terminals. Ensure the charge controller is installed in a well-ventilated area. Allow 1.0 to 1.5cm clearance behind solar panels for adequate cooling. Refer to the supplied user manual for detailed wiring diagrams and instructions. Before You Buy Verify your battery voltage (12V or 24V) is compatible with this kit. Consider your total power consumption to ensure 40W meets your needs. Plan your mounting location for optimal sunlight exposure and panel orientation. Confirm the 5m battery cable length is sufficient for your intended setup. For complex installations or specific requirements, professional advice is recommended. All specifications are based on manufacturer data and are subject to change. Always verify compatibility and requirements before purchase.
