Built-In Protection Functions The integrated 10A MPPT charge controller provides essential safety features to protect your battery and solar system. These include: Overcharge Protection • Reverse Polarity Protection • Short-Circuit Protection • Reverse Current Protection (prevents battery discharge back through the panels at night) • Overload Protection • Overheating Protection. Common Questions What type of batteries is this kit compatible with? This kit is designed for charging 12V lead-acid batteries, including flooded, sealed, Gel, and AGM types. It is not suitable for lithium batteries. Can this kit be used in all weather conditions? Yes, the kit is designed to be 100% waterproof, including the integrated MPPT solar charge controller, making it suitable for use in various outdoor weather conditions. What are the benefits of an ETFE coating on the solar panels? The ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) coating provides enhanced durability, a longer lifespan, improved efficiency due to high light transmittance and anti-reflective properties, and reduced maintenance through its self-cleaning surface. It also offers excellent resistance to UV, weather, and corrosion. How does the MPPT controller improve charging efficiency? The MPPT controller continuously tracks the maximum power point of the solar panels, adjusting voltage and current to extract the most power possible. This can lead to significantly higher charging efficiency (up to 30% more) compared to traditional PWM controllers, especially in conditions where panel voltage fluctuates. Installation Notes The Photonic Universe 100W folding solar kit is designed for straightforward setup. Simply unfold the panels, adjust the integrated stand to face direct sunlight, and connect the supplied 5m battery cable with crocodile clips directly to your 12V lead-acid battery. Ensure connections are secure and observe correct polarity. An installation manual is included for detailed guidance. While the kit is waterproof, positioning it in a well-ventilated area is recommended for optimal controller performance and longevity. Avoid shading the panels for maximum power generation.
