Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum 30ml is the compact, travel-friendly size of the brand's flagship contemporary feminine signature, launched in 2019 and signed by master perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm. A bright opening of mandarin, lavender essence and blackcurrant leads into a glowing floral heart of orange blossom, Moroccan jasmine and lavender absolute, before settling into a warm, sensual base of Madagascar vanilla, ambergris, musk and cedar. About YSL Libre Yves Saint Laurent founded his eponymous fashion house in Paris in 1961, and the brand's fragrance line — produced under licence by L'Oréal Luxe — has been one of the most influential in modern perfumery. Libre launched in 2019 as a deliberately bold, modern feminine pillar — an "ode to freedom" built around the unusual combination of lavender (traditionally a masculine note) with white florals and warm vanilla. Fragrance notes Top: Mandarin, Lavender Essence, Blackcurrant Heart: Orange Blossom, Moroccan Jasmine, Lavender Absolute Base: Madagascar Vanilla, Ambergris, Musk, Cedar Olfactory family: Oriental Fougère | Launched: 2019 | Perfumers: Anne Flipo, Carlos Benaïm Who it's for Libre suits women looking for a confident, modern fragrance with strong projection and a warm, slightly indulgent vanilla drydown. The 30ml format is a sensible first bottle or travel companion. The composition is at its best in autumn and winter, ideal for date-night, dinner and party contexts. Anyone drawn to fragrances such as Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium or Mugler Alien will recognise the territory. How to wear it Hold the bottle around 15 cm from the skin and spray onto pulse points — wrists, neck, and behind the ears. Apply to clean, moisturised skin straight after a shower for the longest wear. Two sprays usually balance well; the vanilla-and-ambergris drydown develops on warm skin and rewards a moderate hand.
