Vintage Wooden Policeman Skittles Set Hand Painted Guards 9 PinsA charming vintage wooden skittles set featuring nine hand-turned policemen figures mounted on the original wooden base. Each figure is painted as a uniformed guard with black coats, tall helmets, and red bases, giving the group a strong graphic presence reminiscent of traditional British policemen. The skittles are individually carved and hand-painted, with simple expressive faces and turned bodies. The paint shows attractive age-related wear, creating a pleasing patina that adds to the decorative appeal. The set sits on its original wooden rail base, making it ideal for display as well as use. Nine-pin sets are typical of earlier tabletop skittles games, particularly in the early to mid-20th century, and should not be confused with later ten-pin versions. Condition In good vintage condition with visible age and wear. Paint loss, scuffs, and surface wear consistent with use. The base shows age and handling marks. A well-preserved and complete set for its type. Please refer to photographs for full condition detail. DimensionsH: 15.5 cm Era Early to mid 20th century (c.1930–1950)
