MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) is an advanced algorithm that continuously tracks the optimal voltage and current point of your solar panels to extract the maximum available power, especially beneficial in changing weather conditions. How do I monitor the SmartSolar MPPT 75/15? The controller has built-in Bluetooth, allowing you to connect wirelessly to the VictronConnect App on your smartphone, tablet, or computer for real-time data, historical logs, and configuration. Can this controller charge different battery types? Yes, the SmartSolar MPPT 75/15 is compatible with a wide range of battery types, including AGM, Gel, Tubular plate, and Lithium, offering flexible charging profiles. What is the 'BatteryLife' feature? BatteryLife is an intelligent algorithm that monitors the battery's state of charge and dynamically adjusts the load disconnect voltage to ensure the battery achieves a 100% recharge regularly, thereby prolonging its lifespan. Installation Notes Mount the controller vertically in a dry, well-ventilated area, close to the batteries. Always connect the battery first, ensuring correct polarity, before connecting the solar panels. Ensure solar panel voltage (Voc) does not exceed 75V and short-circuit current (Isc) does not exceed 15A. Use appropriate cable gauges (up to 6mm² / AWG10) for all connections to minimise voltage drop. Refer to the detailed user manual for comprehensive wiring diagrams and operational instructions. Before You Buy Verify your solar panel array's total power and voltage are within the controller's limits (Max 75V PV, Max 220W/12V, 440W/24V). Confirm your battery bank voltage (12V or 24V) matches the controller's auto-detection capability. Consider if you require additional Victron accessories, such as a VE.Direct USB cable for PC connection without Bluetooth, or an optional MPPT Control display. Ensure you have adequate space for mounting and proper ventilation around the unit. For complex systems, consult with a qualified solar installer to ensure compatibility and optimal system design. Always verify product specifications and compatibility with your existing solar system components before purchase. This product is covered by a manufacturer's 5-year warranty.
