Remote Monitoring Stations Provides stable and efficient power management for critical remote equipment. Built-In Protection Functions The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 100/20 is equipped with comprehensive electronic protection features to ensure safe and reliable operation. These include output short circuit protection, overheat protection, and reverse polarity protection for the PV array (with caution). The load output is short-circuit proof, safeguarding connected devices and the controller itself. It holds international safety certifications including EN/IEC 62109-1, UL 1741, and CSA C22.2 No.107.1-16. Common Questions Does the BlueSolar MPPT 100/20 have built-in Bluetooth? No, the BlueSolar MPPT 100/20 does not have built-in Bluetooth. For wireless monitoring and configuration via the VictronConnect app, a separate VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle is required. What is the "Battery Life" algorithm? The Battery Life algorithm is an intelligent battery management feature designed to prevent damage to lead-acid batteries from chronic partial charging. It monitors the battery's state of charge and, if necessary, gradually adjusts the load disconnect voltage to ensure the battery achieves a near 100% recharge approximately once a week, extending its lifespan. Can I connect an inverter to the load output? While the load output is short-circuit proof, Victron recommends connecting high-power loads, especially inverters, directly to the battery. The inverter's remote control can then be connected to the load output for intelligent control. Always refer to the product manual for specific wiring guidance. What is the maximum PV voltage this controller can handle? The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 100/20 has a maximum PV open circuit voltage of 100V. It is crucial not to exceed this voltage to prevent damage to the controller. Installation Notes Mount the charge controller vertically on a non-flammable surface, ensuring adequate clearance (minimum 10cm above and below) for optimal cooling. Install the controller within 3 metres of the battery, but never directly above it, to prevent damage from battery gassing. Ensure all wiring connections (battery, PV array, and load) are made with correct polarity and appropriate cable sizing. A battery fuse is required as per local regulations and the product manual; for the MPPT 100/20, a 25A to 30A fuse is recommended. Always disconnect the battery bank before connecting or disconnecting the solar array or load. Consult the official Victron Energy manual for detailed installation instructions and safety precautions. Before You Buy Verify System Voltage: Confirm your battery bank operates at 12V, 24V, or 48V, which this controller supports. Check PV Array Compatibility: Ensure your solar panel array's open circuit voltage (Voc) does not exceed 100V and its short circuit current (Isc) does not exceed 20A. Consider Communication Needs: If remote monitoring or advanced configuration via Bluetooth is desired, remember that a separate VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle is required. Battery Type: Confirm compatibility with your battery chemistry (lead-acid or lithium). Installation Environment: Ensure the intended installation location meets the IP rating requirements and temperature range for optimal performance. Always consult the manufacturer's official documentation for precise specifications, installation guidelines, and warranty information before purchase and installation. Product specifications are subject to change by the manufacturer.
