Fully Discharged Battery Recovery Can initiate charging even when the battery is deeply discharged, provided there is sufficient PV voltage. Typical Applications Application Description Off-Grid Solar Systems Ideal for cabins, remote homes, and small independent power systems where grid connection is unavailable. Recreational Vehicles (RVs) & Caravans Efficiently charges leisure batteries from solar panels, extending autonomy on the road. Marine Applications Suitable for boats and yachts to maintain battery banks using solar power. Small Commercial Installations Can be integrated into smaller commercial setups requiring reliable solar battery charging. Built-In Protection Functions The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 100/50 is equipped with comprehensive electronic protection features to ensure safe and reliable operation. These include: Over-temperature protection and power derating when temperature is high • PV short circuit protection • PV reverse polarity protection • PV reverse current protection. Common Questions What is the maximum PV voltage this controller can handle? The Victron BlueSolar MPPT 100/50 can handle a maximum PV open circuit voltage of 100V. Does this model have built-in Bluetooth for monitoring? No, the BlueSolar MPPT 100/50 does not have built-in Bluetooth. To enable remote monitoring via the VictronConnect App, a separate VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle is required. What battery voltages are supported? This charge controller automatically detects and supports both 12V and 24V battery systems. Can it charge a deeply discharged battery? Yes, the BlueSolar MPPT 100/50 has a function to recover fully discharged batteries, provided there is sufficient PV voltage available. Installation Notes Ensure the charge controller is mounted in a well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and moisture, within its specified IP ratings. Always connect the battery to the charge controller first, before connecting the solar panels, and disconnect in reverse order. Use appropriate cable gauges for PV and battery connections to minimise voltage drop and ensure safety. Refer to the official Victron Energy manual for detailed installation instructions and wiring diagrams. Before You Buy Verify your battery bank voltage (12V or 24V) and ensure it matches the controller's auto-detection capability. Confirm your total solar panel array power (in Watts) and ensure it does not exceed the controller's nominal PV power ratings (700W for 12V, 1400W for 24V). Check the maximum open circuit voltage (Voc) of your solar panel array; it must not exceed 100V. Consider if remote monitoring is required. If so, plan to purchase a separate VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or a Victron GX device. Consult a qualified installer if you are unsure about system design or electrical connections. All specifications are based on manufacturer data and are subject to change. Always refer to the official Victron Energy documentation for the most current information. Victron Energy offers a standard 5-year warranty on this product.
