Built-In Protection Functions The Victron BlueSolar PWM Light Charge Controller is equipped with multiple safety features to protect your system components. These include protection against reverse polarity connection of the solar array and/or battery • load output protected against overload and short circuit • and a low battery voltage disconnect function to prevent over-discharge. Common Questions What type of batteries is this controller suitable for? This PWM charge controller is primarily designed for lead-acid batteries, including AGM, GEL, and Flooded types. For lithium batteries, a controller with a dedicated LiFePO4 charging profile is generally recommended. Does this controller have Bluetooth connectivity? No, the Victron BlueSolar PWM Light series does not feature built-in Bluetooth connectivity. It is a standalone unit designed for straightforward operation without app integration. Can I use this controller with both 12V and 24V solar panels? Yes, the Victron BlueSolar PWM Light Charge Controller automatically detects and adapts to either 12V or 24V battery systems. Ensure your solar panel voltage is compatible with the selected battery voltage. What is the purpose of the load output? The load output allows you to connect DC loads directly to the controller. It features a low battery voltage disconnect function to protect your battery from over-discharge, and a programmable timer for lighting control. Installation Notes Mount the controller vertically on a non-flammable surface in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight. Always connect the battery to the charge controller first, ensuring correct polarity. Connect the solar panel(s) to the controller after the battery, again observing correct polarity. Connect any DC loads to the designated load output terminals, ensuring the load current does not exceed the controller's rating. Use appropriate wire gauges for all connections to prevent overheating and ensure efficient power transfer. Before You Buy Verify your battery system voltage (12V or 24V) and ensure it matches the controller's auto-detection capability. Confirm your total solar panel array current does not exceed the controller's 10A rated charge current. Check the maximum open-circuit voltage (Voc) of your solar array to ensure it is below the controller's maximum solar voltage of 50V. Consider the type of battery you are using; this PWM controller is best suited for lead-acid batteries. Ensure you have adequate space for mounting and proper ventilation for the controller. Specifications are subject to change by the manufacturer. Always refer to the official Victron Energy documentation for the most current information. This product typically comes with a 5-year manufacturer's limited warranty.
