Common Questions What is SinusMax technology? SinusMax is Victron Energy's proprietary technology that provides exceptionally high peak power, far beyond its continuous rating. This allows the inverter to start demanding loads like motors and compressors that require a large initial surge of power. Can this inverter power sensitive electronics? Yes, the Victron Phoenix Inverter produces a pure sine wave output, which is identical to or often better than grid power. This makes it perfectly safe and suitable for powering all types of sensitive electronic equipment, including computers, medical devices, and audio-visual equipment. What is the VE.Direct port used for? The VE.Direct communication port enables connection to a computer (via a VE.Direct to USB interface cable) or smartphones/tablets (via a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle), both sold separately. This allows users to monitor input/output voltage, load percentage, alarms, and configure various settings using the free VictronConnect app. What battery voltage is required for this inverter? This specific model, the Victron Phoenix Inverter 24/1200, requires a 24V DC battery bank for operation. It is designed to convert 24V DC power into 230V AC. Installation Notes Professional Installation: For safety and optimal performance, installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or solar installer in accordance with local wiring regulations. Ventilation: Ensure the inverter is installed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating and maintain efficiency. DC Cabling: Use appropriate DC cabling and fusing, sized correctly for the inverter's input current and the distance from the battery bank. Mounting: Mount the inverter securely on a non-flammable surface, ensuring adequate clearance around the unit for airflow. Before You Buy Power Requirements: Calculate the total continuous and peak power requirements of the appliances you intend to run to ensure the 1200VA / 1000W capacity is sufficient. Battery System: Confirm your battery bank operates at 24V DC to match the inverter's input voltage. Monitoring Accessories: If remote monitoring or advanced configuration is desired, consider purchasing the VE.Direct to USB interface cable or VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle separately. Consult an Expert: If unsure about system design or compatibility, consult with a qualified solar or electrical professional. Always verify product specifications and compatibility with your existing system components before purchase. All technical data is based on manufacturer specifications and may be subject to change.
