Common Questions What is SinusMax technology? SinusMax is Victron's proprietary technology that enables Phoenix inverters to deliver very high start-up power, far exceeding conventional high-frequency inverters. This makes them ideal for powering difficult loads like refrigeration compressors and electric motors. Can this inverter be expanded for more power? Yes, the Victron Phoenix Inverter Compact C12/1600 supports parallel operation, allowing up to six identical units to be connected together for increased power output. It also supports 3-phase configuration. Does this inverter include an automatic transfer switch? No, the Phoenix Inverter Compact C12/1600 does not have a built-in automatic transfer switch. For applications requiring this feature, Victron Energy recommends using their MultiPlus inverter/charger range, which includes this functionality. How can I monitor or configure this inverter? The inverter features a VE.Bus communication port. You can connect it to a PC using an optional MK3-USB VE.Bus to USB interface and use Victron's free VEConfigure or VictronConnect software for detailed monitoring, parameter customisation, and system integration. Installation Notes Professional installation by a qualified electrician or solar installer is highly recommended to ensure safety and optimal performance. Ensure the DC input voltage matches the inverter's specification (12V DC) and that battery cabling is appropriately sized. Install in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating, allowing for adequate airflow around the unit. Always refer to the official Victron Energy installation manual for detailed instructions and safety guidelines. The inverter should be mounted securely on a non-flammable surface. Before You Buy Verify DC System Voltage: Confirm your battery bank operates at 12V DC to ensure compatibility with this inverter. Assess Power Requirements: Calculate the total continuous and peak power (surge) requirements of your appliances to ensure the 1600VA/1300W continuous and 3000W peak output is sufficient. Consider Expansion: If you anticipate needing more power in the future, remember this model supports parallel operation with up to six units. Required Accessories: Note that an MK3-USB VE.Bus to USB interface is required for PC connection and software configuration (sold separately). Application Suitability: Ensure this pure sine wave inverter meets the specific power quality needs of your intended loads. Specifications are based on manufacturer data and verified information. Always consult the official product manual for the most accurate and up-to-date details before purchase and installation.
