The "(2+1)" indicates that the charger has three isolated outputs: two main outputs capable of delivering the full 50A charge current for house battery banks, and one smaller 4A output specifically for maintaining a starter battery. What types of batteries is this charger compatible with? The Victron Phoenix Charger is designed with an adaptive charging algorithm that is optimised for various battery chemistries, including lead-acid, AGM, gel, and lithium batteries. Can this charger be used as a power supply? Yes, the Victron Phoenix Charger 12V/50A (2+1) can be used as a power supply, providing stable DC voltage when needed. Does it include a temperature sensor? Yes, the charger comes with a battery temperature sensor. When connected, the charging voltage automatically adjusts based on the battery temperature, which helps to extend battery life. Installation Notes Ensure the charger is installed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Connect the battery temperature sensor for optimal charging performance and battery longevity. Use appropriate cable gauges for all connections to minimise voltage drop and ensure safety. Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct wiring and system integration. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for detailed installation instructions and safety guidelines. Before You Buy Verify that the 12V system voltage and 50A charge current meet your specific battery bank requirements. Confirm the type and capacity (Ah) of your batteries to ensure compatibility with the charger's adaptive algorithm. Consider the physical dimensions (350x200x108 mm) and weight (3.8 kg) to ensure adequate installation space. Check the input voltage requirements (90-265V AC / 90-400V DC) to match your available power source. For advanced configuration, an RS-485 to USB interface (MK2-USB) and Victron VEConfigure software are required. All specifications are based on manufacturer data and are subject to change. Please verify compatibility and requirements before purchase.
