Common Questions What is MPPT and why is it important? MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology continuously monitors the voltage and current output of your solar panels to find the optimal point for maximum power production. This is crucial for maximising energy harvest, especially when light intensity is changing due to clouds or shading. Can I monitor this charge controller remotely? Yes, the BlueSolar MPPT 150/60-Tr can be monitored via Victron GX devices (e.g., ColorControl GX) or by adding a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle (sold separately) to connect with the VictronConnect app on your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device. What battery voltages does it support? This controller automatically detects and supports 12V, 24V, and 48V battery systems. Is this controller suitable for lithium batteries? Yes, the Victron BlueSolar MPPT 150/60-Tr features a flexible charge algorithm that can be fully programmed to suit various battery types, including LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) batteries. Installation Notes Mount the charge controller in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials. Ensure correct wiring polarity for both the PV array and battery connections to prevent damage. Refer to the official Victron Energy manual for detailed installation instructions, wiring diagrams, and safety guidelines. Consider professional installation by a qualified electrician or solar installer for optimal performance and safety. Before You Buy Verify your total PV array open circuit voltage (Voc) does not exceed 145V under coldest conditions to ensure compatibility. Confirm your battery system voltage (12V, 24V, or 48V) matches the controller's capabilities. Ensure the rated charge current (60A) is appropriate for your battery bank size and PV array output. Consider if additional accessories, such as a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle, are needed for your desired monitoring features. Specifications are subject to change by the manufacturer. Always consult the latest Victron Energy documentation for precise details and compatibility. This product comes with a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
