The Tunze Comline® DOC Skimmer 9004 is engineered for reef aquariums, catering specifically to soft coral aquariums up to 250 litres (66 US gal) or sensitive reef biotopes with stone corals up to 150 litres (40 US gal). Employing the innovative TUNZE® Flash Skimming principle, this skimmer utilises a highly efficient surface intake system for effective bacteria film removal. Ideal for standalone operations within reef aquariums rich in live rock, the skimmer comes fully equipped with the necessary accessories for setup in aquariums featuring glass up to 12mm thick, with a Magnet Holder included. The advanced design of the skimmer features a 200ml skimmer cup which doubles as a foam reactor, providing ease of maintenance. The intermediate chamber incorporates a patented anti-overfoaming system, while the Tunze Foamer offers high air output with minimal energy consumption. The outgoing water is bubble-free, thanks to the thoughtful design of the new Comline. Additionally, its air flow regulation and silencer deliver a remarkably quiet performance. Harnessing the "Flash skimming" principle, the skimmer facilitates exceptional foam production. It optimises the protein-rich surface water, enhancing contact with air bubbles that adsorb pollutants such as protein, cellulose, and dead cells. These fine bubbles, measuring between 0.1 to 0.3mm in diameter, ensure pollutants are effectively separated. The system's innovative design prevents re-release of adsorbed substances into the aquarium water, enhancing the skimmer's efficiency.
