Triumph NTO-11A: 11,000 lbs, and one lever releases every lock Two-post listings in this class all read the same way — a number, a picture and a promise of heavy-duty construction. The detail on the NTO-11A worth knowing is how it comes back down. It uses a single-point lock release: one control disengages the safety latches on both columns together, instead of sending you round the car to free each carriage by hand while a vehicle sits overhead. An electric safety cutoff backs it up, and a full raise takes about forty seconds. The rest is a straightforward overhead-style two-post rated at 11,000 lbs, driven by a 3 HP power unit on 220V, for commercial bays, fleet garages and home shops that keep something heavier than a passenger car. Included while supplies last: a Chicago Pneumatic CP WallAIR 1.5-HP wall-mount air compressor with hose reel and inflation kit. The option to add it appears at checkout. Will It Fit? An 11,000 lb two-post arrives on a truck whether or not the building suits it, so measure before you order. Every figure below is Triumph's, and checking them against your own bay is your responsibility. Ceiling. The lift stands 145 inches overall, plus room for the tallest vehicle you intend to raise. Check lighting, ductwork and sprinkler heads in the swing of the arms, not just the height at the centre of the bay. Floor width. 145 inches overall, with 118 inches between the posts. Add door-opening room on at least one side, or every vehicle on the lift becomes a climb-out through the passenger seat. Drive-through. 108 inches, which is 9 ft of clear width between the carriages. That is the number that decides whether a dual-rear-wheel pickup or a work van goes in without a five-point turn in your own shop. Reach. The pads lift to 72 inches — 6 ft, which puts most undercarriages at chest height rather than over your head — and there is 68 inches of rise under the arms themselves. Loading. Lowered arm height is 4.5 inches, so a low car goes over the arms without a run-up or a stack of timber. Concrete. A 4-inch slab at 3,000 PSI, and it is not negotiable — an anchor is only as good as what it is set into. If you do not know what your slab is, core it or ask the builder before delivery. Power. 220V for the 3 HP motor. Book the electrician before the lift arrives. Why the release mechanism is the feature to compare Every two-post lift holds a vehicle on mechanical locks rather than on hydraulic pressure — that is what makes it safe to stand under. What differs is the ritual of getting off those locks. On the NTO-11A a single release handles both columns, so the sequence is raise slightly, release, lower, with no walking round a loaded lift to reach a second lever. A release that stays out of the routine is a release nobody starts skipping, which is a safety argument that happens to look like a time saving. The electric safety cutoff is the other half of it: carriage travel stops at the top of its range rather than relying on an operator watching the column. Asymmetric arms and an overhead crossbar The arms are asymmetric: the front pair are shorter than the rear pair and the columns are rotated, so a vehicle sits further back than it would on a symmetric machine. The practical result is that the doors clear the columns and you can open them properly to get in and out of a car already in the air — the most common frustration with a cheap symmetric lift. The overhead style keeps the floor between the columns clear of a base plate, so a transmission jack, an oil drain and a creeper roll straight through, and the crossbar carries the hydraulic lines and equalisation cables up out of the working area. Underfoot, each column sits on a base plate of 18 x 20 inches, spreading the anchor load across more of the slab — quietly the hardest-working part of the whole installation. Perfect For Independent repair shops running mixed work where a three-quarter-ton pickup follows a sedan through the same bay. Fleet and municipal garages servicing vans, box trucks and light-duty commercial vehicles that outweigh a lighter lift. Tyre, brake and suspension specialists who need the wheels free and the floor clear all day. Serious home shops with the ceiling height, the slab and a 220V supply, particularly if there is a truck or a project car in the queue. What's in the Box The lift ships with truck adapters included — the pad extensions that reach a frame rail on a pickup or SUV that sits high — plus the arms, power unit and overhead assembly. The material we hold on this lift does not include an independent North American lift-safety listing from a third-party testing body, and we are not going to imply one with vague language about being "tested" or "approved" — those words mean whatever the writer wants them to mean. Here is why it matters rather than why it sounds bad. Some commercial insurance policies, some fleet and municipal maintenance contracts, and some local building or fire code officials specifically require that shop lifting equipment carry an independent safety listing. Most home garages and a great many independent shops are under no such requirement at all. Only you know which side of that line you are on, so check it in writing with your insurer or your inspector before you buy — for this unit or for any other one you are comparing it against. Ask us what documentation ships in the crate and we will tell you exactly what is in there. Shipping and delivery This ships as freight, not as a parcel. It travels on an LTL truck to addresses in the lower 48 states, and the delivery charge you see at checkout is a live carrier quote worked out for your own ZIP code rather than a figure typed into this page, so nothing here goes stale on you. Two practical points decide whether the delivery day is uneventful. The first is unloading: somebody at the receiving end has to get the crate off the back of the truck. A forklift, a tractor with forks, or a telehandler will do it. If none of that is available to you, choose warehouse pickup instead and collect the crate on a trailer, because the freight terminal has the equipment to load you. The second is the address type. A delivery to a home is handled differently from a delivery to a commercial address and carries a residential fee, so tell us which one it is when you order rather than sorting it out on the doorstep. Inspect the shipment before you sign for it. Walk the crate, look for punctures, crushed corners and shifted banding, and write what you find on the bill of lading while the driver is still there. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that everything arrived intact, and it is very hard to argue with afterwards. Photographs taken at the tailgate are worth far more than photographs taken in the garage an hour later. Warranty and claims Triumph publishes its warranty terms in its own documentation rather than in this listing, and we would rather send you the current document than paraphrase a term that may since have changed. Ask us for it before you order and we will give you the version that applies to this model and to the way you intend to use it, since commercial and residential use are not always covered identically. One rule matters more than the wording of the terms. If something fails, do not take it apart. Disassembling a component before the manufacturer has had the chance to inspect it is the most common reason a legitimate claim gets refused, because once it is in pieces nobody can establish what actually happened. Stop using the equipment, photograph the failure where it sits, and call us first. Product Features 11,000 LB LIFTING CAPACITY: Handles larger vehicles, including trucks, SUVs, and full-sized sedans.
