Club: Southampton F.C. Year: 2003/05 Brand: In-house Jersey Type: Goalkeeper Home Size: M Player Name: Antti Niemi 14 Chest length (cm): 61 Shirt length (cm): 76 Condition: 7/10 History: Southampton’s 2003/04 season was solid, though unspectacular, under manager Gordon Strachan, who stepped down midway and was succeeded by Paul Sturrock. The Saints finished 12th in the Premier League, a respectable mid-table position after their impressive 8th-place finish the previous year. The campaign was marked by inconsistency, particularly away from home, where results were often disappointing. At St Mary’s Stadium, however, they remained relatively strong. James Beattie was the club’s top scorer, continuing to provide crucial goals. Young talents like Antti Niemi and Chris Baird also gained prominence. In cup competitions, Southampton reached the fifth round of the FA Cup but failed to replicate their run to the final from the previous season. The League Cup campaign ended early. Overall, it was a transitional year that kept the club stable in the Premier League but showed the need for new direction and squad strengthening heading into the following campaign. Antti Niemi was a key figure for Southampton during his time at the club, known for his sharp reflexes, composure, and shot-stopping ability. Joining in 2002, he quickly became a fan favourite, playing a crucial role in their 2003 FA Cup run and providing consistency in the Premier League. Note: These jerseys are authentic.
