Seachem SeaGel 250ml is an advanced filtration solution combining the strengths of MatrixCarbon and PhosGuard. MatrixCarbon is a high-capacity carbon designed for efficiently removing organic and colour impurities from aquariums. PhosGuard is formulated to eliminate phosphate, silicate, toxic metals, and acids, enhancing water quality. Both components are structured in bead form, optimising water flow and penetration, making them particularly suitable for reef and marine aquariums. This synergistic blend can also be effectively used in freshwater systems not buffered with phosphate. While MatrixCarbon is known for its low phosphate leaching, the inclusion of PhosGuard ensures comprehensive absorption, compensating for any minimal phosphate release. The bead-shaped components work in concert to maintain crystal clear water conditions. To use SeaGel, employ one unit for 300-450 litres (80-120 gallons) and place it in a suitable filter bag; it should be rinsed with freshwater before use to mitigate initial fizzing and heating sensations upon wetting. The product remains effective for three to four months and is compatible with freshwater systems that do not rely on phosphate buffering.
