Seachem Reef Carbonate 100ml is a specialised solution designed to restore and maintain the alkalinity of reef aquariums. This concentrated blend provides essential carbonates and bicarbonates necessary for coral growth, without depleting calcium, magnesium, or strontium levels. Proper alkalinity ensures healthy corals and a thriving aquarium ecosystem. The formulation is distinctive, offering a pK of about 9.0 in saltwater, which aids in maintaining a stable pH level around 8.3-8.4. Such stability is crucial as aquarium environments can naturally drive pH levels down, impacting the well-being of coral and other marine life. Designed for both beginners and experts, dosing instructions are straightforward. For novices, it involves using 1 capful per 80L twice a week, carefully adjusting based on regular alkalinity checks. More advanced users can implement continuous drip systems for precision in large or specialised environments. It is essential not to overdose, as excessive alkalinity can lead to the rapid loss of beneficial elements. Always avoid mixing directly with calcium, magnesium, or strontium supplements to prevent any adverse reactions. Key Features: Concentrated formula providing 4,000 meq/L of carbonates.
