Robinair 34998 Connected R-134a Recovery, Recycling & Recharge Machine An A/C machine is one of the few tools in a shop whose accuracy depends on software as much as on hardware, and until recently that software aged in place. The 34998 is the R-134a unit that fixes itself: with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built in, it pulls its own updates, so the machine you install keeps gaining capability instead of slowly falling behind the vehicles coming through the door. That, more than the screen, is the reason to choose this one over a standalone unit. The rest of the package is built for volume. A 10" capacitive touch screen drives the whole workflow, recovery is rated at up to 98.5%, refrigerant identification is onboard, and the printer is built in rather than optional. Recovery, evacuation, leak testing, oil injection, dye addition and recharge all run without a technician adjusting a single manual valve. Connected is a maintenance feature, not a gimmick Wireless connectivity on an A/C machine does three concrete things. It keeps the software current automatically, so new features and revised service logic arrive without anyone downloading a file or carrying a memory card out to the bay. It lets service data and machine metrics be stored and recalled — which vehicle was serviced, when, and how much refrigerant went in — so a dispute about a job six months ago is answered from a record instead of a memory. And it enables proactive service reminders, refrigerant use tracking and reporting, which is the part that matters if refrigerant is a line on your accounts rather than a supply on your shelf. The practical consequence is that the machine's value does not peak on the day it is delivered. A shop that keeps a machine for years is used to that machine's capability being frozen at the moment of purchase; this one is not. The screen changes who can use it The 10" capacitive LCD touch screen is not a styling choice. A capacitive panel behaves the way a phone does — it responds to a light touch and supports the kind of interface that can show a step-by-step service rather than a two-line status. In a busy shop that shows up as less training time: a technician who has not run this particular machine before can start a service correctly without being walked through a key sequence, and the interface makes beginning a service quicker for the person who runs it every day. Refrigerant identification, before the damage Onboard refrigerant identification checks what is actually in the vehicle before the machine takes it in. This is the single most expensive mistake an A/C machine can make: recover a contaminated or blended charge and the contamination is now inside your machine's internal supply, and every vehicle serviced after it is exposed. Identifying first means a bad charge is refused at the hose rather than discovered later in someone else's car. On a machine that also refills its own internal tank automatically — so refrigerant is drawn from an onboard supply rather than a fresh bottle each time — protecting that supply is not optional. Documentation, oil handling and the small automations The built-in printer produces a record at the machine, at the moment the work is done. That is the version of documentation that actually gets used; a report that has to be generated later from a computer usually is not. Automatic internal tank refill removes the mid-service stop that otherwise interrupts a busy afternoon, and programmable service reminders keep filter and pump maintenance on a schedule rather than on a hunch. Fully automatic operation means you can program a full cycle and walk away, or run individual functions independently when a job only needs one of them. Perfect For High-volume independent shops where A/C is a steady revenue line and machine downtime is measurable. Dealership service departments that need per-vehicle service records retained and recallable rather than handwritten. Fleet workshops tracking refrigerant use and reporting it. Multi-bay operations where several technicians of different experience levels share one machine. Shops still carrying a large R-134a parc — the majority of vehicles on the road — who want a modern machine without moving to a different refrigerant. What's in the Box The machine as described: 10" capacitive touch screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, onboard refrigerant identification, built-in printer and automatic internal tank refill are all part of the unit rather than upgrades. Refrigerant, service hoses beyond those fitted, and any vehicle-specific adaptors are not supplied — confirm with us if you need a starting kit alongside it. Specifications Refrigerant R-134a Recovery rate Up to 98.5% Display 10" capacitive LCD touch screen Connectivity Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with automatic software updates Refrigerant identification Onboard Printer Built in Automated functions Recovery, evacuation, leak test, oil injection, dye addition, recharge; automatic internal tank refill Standards and certification, stated honestly The product data we hold for this machine does not name a refrigerant-equipment standard or a third-party listing mark, and we are not going to write one in from what a machine of this class "normally" carries. That is not a statement that the machine lacks any — it is a statement that the claim is not in our data, and a certification claim is exactly the kind of thing that should never be inferred. If your insurer, a fleet contract or a local regulation requires documented compliance for refrigerant-handling equipment, ask us before you order and we will get the manufacturer's documentation rather than guess. Shipping and Delivery Freight only, to the lower 48 states — this is not a parcel-carrier item. Have a way to get it off the truck before it arrives: a dock, a forklift, or a terminal collection arranged with the carrier, which is often the simpler option for a shop without a dock. A residential delivery address is possible and attracts a residential fee, quoted live at checkout rather than fixed here. Check the crate before signing and write any damage onto the bill of lading while the driver is present; once you have signed clean, the damage is yours to prove. Warranty The manufacturer's warranty applies and its terms live on our warranty claims page, which is the current document rather than a summary that ages. Before raising a claim, leave the machine intact: do not open the cabinet, disturb the scale or attempt an internal repair. Refrigerant-handling equipment is calibrated, and a machine that has been opened is both harder to diagnose and routinely refused. Photograph anything unusual, note the machine's own on-screen message if it is showing one, and contact us with that in hand. Product Features and Benefits: New 10" capacitive LCD touch screen and intuitive user interface makes navigation much easier and beginning service quicker Incorporated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technology enable many new features and capabilities making this the most advanced A/C RRR machine on the market today Automatic updates ensure your machine always has the most current software, as well as access to new features and capabilities as they become available Service data management and machine metrics can be retained and stored allowing for proactive service reminders, refrigerant use tracking and reporting, or recalling prior vehicle services performed by the ACS machine Fully-automatic function allows user to program to recover, vacuum, leak test and charge without operating panel valves, or run functions independently as specific service functions are needed Pick Up and Delivery Call, text, or chat with us if you have questions. 866-774-7743
