Roberto Cavalli Nero Assoluto Eau de Parfum 75ml is a sensual, woody amber feminine fragrance built around the contrast between dark woods and warm vanilla. Created in 2013 by perfumer Louise Turner, it opens with a fresh, fruit-touched accord of mandarin, peach and orchid, develops a creamy heart of orange flower, cedarwood and black vanilla, and settles on a deep base of ebony, sandalwood and musk. Housed in the Cavalli signature snake-print flacon, the fragrance is positioned as the brand's bolder, more nocturnal women's signature. Fragrance notes Top: Mandarin, Peach, Orchid Heart: Orange Flower, Cedarwood, Black Vanilla Base: Ebony Wood, Sandalwood, Musk Olfactory family: Woody Amber Vanilla | Launched: 2013 About Roberto Cavalli Roberto Cavalli is the Italian fashion house founded in Florence in 1970 by designer Roberto Cavalli, internationally recognised for its exotic prints, snake motifs and rock-glamour evening wear. The fragrance line — produced in collaboration with major fragrance houses — has built a women's wardrobe around the same baroque sensibility, including Cavalli (1996), Just Cavalli, Roberto Cavalli (2012) and Nero Assoluto. The signature snake-skin pattern wraps around the bottle of every modern Cavalli feminine fragrance. Who it's for Nero Assoluto suits women who appreciate dark, woody, lightly gourmand fragrances with a confident evening character. It performs at its best in autumn and winter, on date nights and in formal contexts where a heavier scent makes sense. Wearers of Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium, Tom Ford Black Orchid or Thierry Mugler Alien often appreciate Nero Assoluto's drier, more wood-led take on the same dark amber-vanilla family. How to use Hold the bottle around 15 cm from the skin and spray onto pulse points — the wrists, the side of the neck and behind the ears. Use a moderate hand. The vanilla-and-ebony base is rich and projects strongly in the first hour. Spray once into the air and walk through the cloud for a softer, less concentrated trail. Longevity is good — typically 6–8 hours on skin and longer on clothing. Sillage is moderate-to-strong in the opening hour and softens into a close skin-scent thereafter, anchored by the ebony-and-sandalwood base. What does Nero Assoluto smell like? Dark, woody and creamy. Peach and mandarin lift the opening, orange flower and a soft black-vanilla note carry the heart, and a smoky ebony-wood drydown gives the fragrance its distinctive nocturnal character — drier and woodier than typical sweet vanilla amber compositions. Is Nero Assoluto suitable for daytime wear? It can be worn during the day in cooler weather, but the woody-vanilla weight makes it most comfortable in the evening or after sundown. For warmer days, apply more sparingly or layer it over a body lotion to soften the projection.
