Rare early Melox Dog Foods pictorial enamel advertising sign with terrierOriginal early 20th century double-sided Melox Dog Foods enamel advertising sign, featuring the distinctive standing terrier set above the bold red Melox roundel with the slogan “The finest in the World”. A striking and highly decorative example of British pet food advertising, combining strong graphic design with a confident brand message. The rich cobalt blue ground, crisp lettering and characterful dog illustration give this sign exceptional wall presence. Melox signs are far scarcer than better-known confectionery or tobacco examples, and this large-format pictorial version is particularly desirable to collectors of animal, pet-related and general advertising signage. ConditionOriginal enamel sign with heavy but genuine age-related wear. Enamel losses, edge corrosion, oxidation and surface scratching, including areas of exposed metal. Despite wear, the main imagery and text remain clear and visually strong. No restoration. Structurally solid with excellent authenticity and character.
