Ranger TruSensor Universal 2-in-1 Sensors — Black Rubber, 24-Pack This is a case quantity of Ranger's universal TruSensor programmable TPMS sensors, fitted with black rubber snap-in stems. The point of a 2-in-1 sensor is inventory: one part number on your shelf covers both of the broadcast frequencies the North American car park runs on, because the sensor is programmed to the vehicle at fitting rather than built for it at the factory. A shop that stocks these stops carrying a wall of make-specific sensors and starts carrying a box. A 24-pack is bought for a reason, and it is rarely price alone. It is bought by the operation that fits TPMS sensors as a routine line on a tyre job rather than as an occasional repair, and which has learned that the expensive part of a TPMS programme is not the sensor — it is the morning a technician cannot finish a car because the right part number was not on the shelf. Why one sensor covers both frequencies A conventional replacement sensor is manufactured to broadcast on the frequency the vehicle's receiver listens for, so the part number is effectively a vehicle list. A programmable universal sensor moves that decision from the factory to your bay: the blank sensor is written with the correct protocol and ID when you fit it, using a TPMS programming tool. That is what "universal 2-in-1" means here — 315 MHz and 433 MHz from a single stocked item. Two consequences follow, and both are worth having. Your stockholding collapses to one line instead of many. And the sensor you are holding is never the wrong one for the car on the ramp, which is the failure mode that turns a tyre job into a return visit. Why black rubber stems The stem is not an afterthought. A rubber snap-in stem pulls through the rim from inside and seals against the wheel by compression, which makes it fast to fit, forgiving of small variations in the valve hole, and immune to the galvanic corrosion that troubles a dissimilar-metal stem in an alloy wheel exposed to road salt. It is also the stem style most tyre shops are already set up to fit, with the tooling and the technique already in the building. The trade-off is honest: rubber is a service item. It ages, it takes a set, and the accepted practice is to renew the stem when the tyre is renewed rather than to run it to failure. For a shop turning tyres continuously, that is not a drawback — it is the same cadence you already work to. For a vehicle that sits, or one running very high pressures or sustained high speed, a metal clamp-in stem is the more usual specification, and Ranger's TruSensor line is also offered that way. Read this before you order: the spec table below is the tool, not the sensors The specification figures published on this listing — display size, battery, input, temperature range, dimensions and weight — are the specification of the TS58R TruSensor programming tool, not of the sensors in this pack. They arrived with the manufacturer's copy, and they are reproduced below under their own heading, labelled for what they describe. What that means practically: do not assume a programming tool is included with this pack. The title and the pack quantity describe sensors. If you need the tool as well, it is a separate listing, and the two are also sold together as a combined kit — ask us and we will point you at the right one for what you already own. If you already run a TPMS programmer, confirm with us that it writes this sensor's protocol before you order a case. Specification published on this listing (TS58R programming tool) Display 3 in. TFT color display (320 x 240 DPI) Battery 3.7V 3000mAh lithium battery Input 5VDC at 2A (10W) Operating temperature 32 to 122° F (0 to 50° C) Storage temperature -4 to 158° F (-20 to 70° C) Dimensions 8.25 in. x 3.75 in. x 1.5 in. Weight 1.5 lbs (680 g) Screen Colour 4.3-inch touch screen with soft-touch buttons Sensor coverage Activates, diagnoses and reads 100% of OE and aftermarket TPMS sensors Vehicle coverage 98%, including domestic, Asian and European Reproduced exactly as Ranger publishes it, and labelled for what it is. What the tool does with these sensors For context rather than as a claim about the pack contents: a TruSensor programmer activates, diagnoses and reads 100% of OE and aftermarket TPMS sensors and carries 98% vehicle coverage across domestic, Asian and European platforms, and it will write a new sensor by copying the ID from the old one, by manual entry, by generating fresh IDs, or by taking the IDs the vehicle's own control module is expecting. The last of those is the route that matters on a car whose original sensors are already dead. Perfect For High-volume tyre shops replacing sensors as a routine line item and buying by the case. Multi-bay general repair shops that want one sensor line on the shelf instead of a make-by-make matrix. Mobile tyre operators, for whom "the right part is back at the unit" is a wasted call-out. Wheel and tyre retailers building sets on alloy wheels where snap-in rubber stems are the house standard. What's in the Box A pack of 24 Ranger TruSensor universal 2-in-1 sensors with black rubber stems. The listing describes sensors and a quantity; it does not describe a programming tool, a case, cables or service kits, so please do not assume any of those are included. If you need a confirmed, itemised pack list before committing to a case, ask us and we will get it in writing from Ranger. Approvals and radio conformity The data behind this listing makes no third-party approval or conformity claim for these sensors, and we are not going to invent one. Radio-transmitting devices fitted to road vehicles are generally subject to national radio-equipment rules, and a sensor that is legal to sell in one market is not automatically legal in another. If you are fitting outside the United States, or if a fleet or insurance policy requires documented conformity for parts fitted to its vehicles, tell us what you need to see and we will request it from Ranger rather than reassure you from a web page. Shipping and delivery This item ships free within the lower 48 states, so there is nothing to add at checkout. Most consumable packs travel as parcels; anything that moves as freight instead is booked in by the carrier, needs somebody on site able to take it off the truck, and can be collected from the freight terminal if that suits you better. Residential addresses carry a residential fee. Whatever arrives, count and inspect it against the paperwork before signing, and record any shortage or damage on the delivery receipt while the driver is still there. Collection from the pickup locations listed further down this page is also available. Warranty These are covered by Ranger's written product warranty; we will send you the current document on request. No term is stated in the data behind this listing, so none is printed here — ask and we will confirm it properly. Two practical notes on sensor claims specifically: keep the packaging and the pack identification until the set is fitted and confirmed working, and do not attempt to open, re-stem or otherwise rework a sensor you intend to claim on, because a modified part is not a warranty part.
