Ranger RWL-150T Pneumatic Wheel Lift The specification that makes this wheel lift work is its minimum saddle height: 2". Two inches means the saddle slides under a wheel and tire assembly lying flat on the shop floor. No tilting it up onto its edge, no getting a shoulder under it, no lifting the heaviest part of the job by hand before the machine takes over. That is the entire ergonomic argument, and it lives or dies on that one number — a lift that starts at six or eight inches still leaves the worst part of the lift to the technician. From there the saddle rises to 28", which puts the assembly at the height of the tire changer turntable. Floor to turntable, lever-controlled, without a back injury in between. Will It Fit? Check Your Air First This is a pneumatic lift, so the compatibility question is not just which changer it bolts to — it is whether your compressor can feed it. Minimum air supply is 125 PSI at 8 CFM. That is a genuine requirement rather than a nominal figure, and it is where a lot of small-shop and home-garage compressors fall short: plenty of units reach 125 PSI but cannot sustain 8 CFM, and a lift starved of air is slow and hesitant under load exactly when it should not be. Check the delivery rating on your compressor's plate, not the tank pressure, before you order. Mechanically, the RWL-150T is designed to fit the Ranger R980XR and R980AT tire changers. It is an optional accessory that adapts to those machines without modification, so if you run one of them this is a bolt-on addition rather than a project. If you run a different changer — another brand, or an older Ranger model — ask us before ordering; fitment to anything other than the R980XR and R980AT is not claimed here and we are not going to guess on your behalf. The saddle measures 17.5" x 11.5". Lifting capacity is 150 lbs, which comfortably covers passenger and light-truck wheel and tire assemblies but is a real ceiling on large truck or heavily loaded assemblies — weigh the heaviest combination you handle rather than estimating it. Shipping weight is 102 lbs in a 30" x 30" x 25" carton. One-Handed by Design The lift is lever-controlled, and the reason that matters is what it leaves your other hand free to do. Raising a wheel is only half the task; the other half is steering it, keeping it from rolling off the saddle, and presenting the centre bore squarely to the turntable cone. A control that needs both hands makes you choose between operating the lift and controlling the load. A single lever means one hand runs the lift while the other guides the assembly on and off the turntable — and that is precision work, not brute force. The saddle's 17.5" x 11.5" footprint is sized to sit under a tire's tread face rather than under the rim, so the assembly is supported on rubber and cannot be scuffed against the wheel finish. On alloy and painted wheels that is the difference between a routine tire change and a comeback. Why a Wheel Lift Pays for Itself The injuries that take technicians off the floor in a tire shop are rarely dramatic. They are cumulative lower-back and shoulder problems from repeatedly lifting awkward, heavy, badly balanced objects from floor level to waist height, dozens of times a day. A lift that starts at 2" and ends at 28" removes that motion from the job entirely. The productivity case follows from the same fact. A technician who is not fighting the weight of the assembly mounts it faster, and a shop that is not carrying a rotating cast of strained backs runs its bays with fewer surprises. The lift is compact enough that it does not cost you floor space to get that. Perfect For Busy tire shops already running an R980XR or R980AT, where volume makes the manual lift the limiting factor. General repair shops whose changer is used by whoever is free rather than by a specialist. Fleet and light-truck operations handling heavier assemblies routinely. Home and enthusiast garages with a compatible changer and an adequate compressor, where there may be nobody around to help lift. What's in the Box The RWL-150T ships as the pneumatic lift assembly with its saddle and lever control, to be fitted to a compatible Ranger changer. This listing does not itemise air fittings, hose or a regulator, so plan to supply your shop-side air connection, and ask us if you want that confirmed for your installation. Certification, Stated Honestly No third-party product listing is claimed for this wheel lift on this page and we will not imply one. If your workplace health-and-safety policy requires documented lifting-aid assessment, or your insurer specifies independently assessed equipment, get that requirement in writing and check it against the manufacturer's documentation before you order rather than afterwards. Shipping and Delivery Ships to the lower 48 states. If it travels by freight, delivery is kerbside or to a dock rather than inside the building, so be ready to take the carton off the truck or collect it from the carrier's terminal; a residential address carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout with the rest of your shipping. Check the carton at delivery and note any damage on the carrier's paperwork before signing — a pneumatic cylinder that has taken a knock in transit is not always obvious from the outside. Warranty Ranger publishes a warranty statement covering its products and that document governs this lift. No term is stated on this listing, so we will not quote one; ask and we will send the current statement before you order. If the lift will not hold or will not rise, contact us before dismantling the cylinder or valve — a unit taken apart before assessment is a claim that will usually be declined.
