Ranger RFJ-10TL 10-Ton Long Frame Floor Jack A 61" chassis is the specification that defines this jack. Twenty thousand pounds of capacity is common enough on a service floor; being able to reach the lift point on a long-wheelbase truck, a bus or a piece of farm machinery without crawling the jack in from the side is not. The RFJ-10TL runs a 61" (1,549 mm) chassis specifically so the saddle arrives where the frame rail actually is, and it carries 20,000 lbs. (9,072 kg) when it gets there. Reach is only useful if the jack is still stable at the end of it, which is why the chassis widens toward the rear: 13" (330 mm) across the front, 18" (457 mm) across the back. That taper is what lets the nose slide into a tight space while the load stays planted on the wider end. Two pumps and a foot pedal: how it gets there quickly Long-frame jacks have a reputation for being slow, because a long jack takes a lot of strokes to close the gap between the saddle and a high frame. This one attacks that on two fronts. A dual plunger pump assembly moves more fluid per stroke during the free-lift phase, and a foot pedal handles the initial rise entirely — the operator raises the saddle to the vehicle with a foot while both hands are still free, and only picks up the handle for the loaded part of the lift. Coming down is the part that deserves more attention than it usually gets. The pressure release runs through a universal joint design that allows genuinely fine adjustment, so the descent is metered rather than switched. On a 20,000 lb load, the difference between a release you can feather and one that is effectively on-or-off is the difference between setting a vehicle onto stands and dropping it onto them. One weight figure to confirm with us Published figures for this jack's weight differ: the product description lists approximately 479 pounds, while the specification table on this page gives a shipping weight of 380 lbs. (172 kg). If you are planning how to unload or move this jack — and at either figure you should be — confirm the weight with us before it ships, and we will get the current figure straight from Ranger. Every capacity and dimension on this page is consistent; the weight is the one number worth a call. Will It Fit? Lifting capacity 20,000 lbs. (9,072 kg) Lowered pad height 7" (176 mm) Raised height 23" (584 mm) Front overall width 13" (330 mm) Rear overall width 18" (457 mm) Chassis length 61" (1,549 mm) Shipping dimensions 64" x 20" x 13" (1,626 mm x 508 mm x 330 mm) The two numbers to check against your own vehicles are the ends of the range: 7" (176 mm) at the pad decides whether the jack goes under at all, and 23" (584 mm) decides whether it gets the wheel far enough off the ground for the job. Between them is the working window, and it is the buyer's responsibility to confirm both against the vehicles in the fleet before ordering. Note also the crate: 64" x 20" x 13" needs a clear route into the building, and a long crate is harder to corner than a heavy one. Overload protection that acts rather than warns An automatic overload protection valve is built into the hydraulic system and prevents lifting beyond the rated capacity. The distinction worth drawing is that this is not a gauge the operator is expected to watch — it is a valve that simply will not allow the lift to continue. On a shared shop floor, where the person on the handle may not be the person who knows what the vehicle weighs, a device that enforces the limit is worth considerably more than one that displays it. Behind that, the construction is heavy steel throughout, the ram is alloy-plated to protect the seal it passes through on every stroke, and the hydraulics are double-sealed against contamination. Swivel casters carry it around the shop, which is what makes a jack of this length practical to reposition rather than something you set up once and work around. Perfect For Truck and trailer fleets where the lift point sits well inboard of the bumper. Bus and coach maintenance needing reach under a long, low chassis. Farm and construction equipment service, where frames are high and irregular. Heavy-duty independents whose current jack can reach the load or carry it, but not both. What's in the Box RFJ-10TL long-frame floor jack, heavy steel construction Alloy-plated ram with double-sealed hydraulics Pump handle, lockable in three towing positions Foot pedal control for rapid initial rise Swivel casters Certification, honestly Our record for this jack claims no third-party North American safety listing for lifting equipment, and we will not write one onto the page. That deserves a straight answer rather than silence, because lifting equipment is exactly the category where such requirements are real: certain insurers, fleet and franchise policies, and local jurisdictions require lifting devices in a commercial facility to carry a recognised independent listing, and a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity is not the same document. If any of those apply to you, verify the requirement in writing before you buy — from us, and from whoever is asking. Independently of any paperwork: a floor jack lifts a load, it does not hold one. Get stands under the vehicle before anybody works beneath it. Shipping and delivery The RFJ-10TL ships as freight within the lower 48 states, and given the weight question flagged above, plan for the heavier figure rather than the lighter one. The carrier brings it to the back of the truck; unloading is the buyer's arrangement, so line up a forklift, a dock or several people — or nominate the carrier's terminal and collect it, which is often simpler for an item this long. A residential address carries a residential fee, quoted live at checkout. Inspect the crate before signing: note damage on the delivery receipt in writing, photograph it while the driver is present, and tell us the same day. Warranty The warranty document Ranger publishes for this product is linked on this page and is what governs the terms. If the jack starts to creep, leak or lose pressure, take it out of service and call us before opening the hydraulic assembly — a sealed unit that has already been dismantled is a much harder claim to place with the manufacturer than one that has not.
