Ranger RCD-2500 GoCart Mobile Wheel Jack / 2,500 lb Capacity / Car Dollies Ranger RCD-2500: 2,500 lbs Under Every Single Corner The RCD-2500 is the high-capacity member of Ranger's GoCart family, and one number tells you why it exists: each unit carries 2,500 lbs on its own, so a set of four sits under a vehicle weighing up to 10,000 lbs. Everything else about this wheel jack follows from that rating — the tubular steel frame, the reinforced cross members, the bearing-supported wheels. If you already own light-duty dollies and they groan under a loaded truck, the per-unit rating is the specification you came here to check. Ranger lists this product as both a mobile wheel jack and a car dolly, and both names are accurate. Each unit lifts one wheel clear of the floor and then acts as a caster underneath it. Do that at all four corners and a vehicle that will not start, will not steer, or has no drivetrain in it at all becomes something a single technician can push sideways, spin in place, or tuck against a wall. Will It Fit Your Shop and Your Vehicle? Each unit measures approximately 24 in. in length, 18 in. in width and 6 in. in height, so a set of four occupies about the same shelf as a pair of jack stands and a floor jack. That low 6 in. stack height is what lets the frame slide in beside a tire without jacking the vehicle first on most passenger cars — but on a lowered car with an aggressive front lip, measure your approach clearance before you order. Lift travel is up to 3 in. That is deliberately modest. It is enough to take the tread off the floor so the wheel rolls on the jack instead of on itself; it is not a service height, and it is not a substitute for a lift or for properly rated stands. Nobody should ever be under a vehicle supported by dollies. The floor matters more than the ceiling on a product like this. Polymer wheels roll well on smooth, hard, swept surfaces such as sealed concrete and tile; they do not roll well across expansion joints, gravel, floor drains or a slab with a drainage slope. A vehicle on four dollies has no parking brake and no steering — it goes wherever gravity and your hands send it. Confirming that your floor is level, sound and clear is the buyer's responsibility, and it is the single thing that determines whether this tool feels safe or alarming in use. Why the Per-Unit Rating Matters More Than the Total Shoppers compare the headline figure — 10,000 lbs across a set of four — and stop there. The number that actually governs is the 2,500 lbs each unit is rated to hold, because vehicle weight does not distribute in equal quarters. A front-engine vehicle with a cast iron block, a transmission and the radiator all ahead of the firewall can carry appreciably more than half its mass on the front axle. The practical rule: divide the axle weight, not the vehicle weight, and leave headroom. The RCD-2500's rating gives most shops that headroom on vehicles where a lighter dolly would already be at its limit. Flat-Free Polymer Wheels That Cannot Go Down Overnight Each unit rolls on 4 in. polymer wheels. Flat-free is not a convenience claim on a dolly — it is a safety one. A pneumatic caster that loses air under a loaded vehicle drops that corner and skews the whole car, and it does it silently, over a weekend, in a shop nobody is standing in. Solid polymer has nothing to lose. It also shrugs off the things that live on a shop floor: dropped brake fluid, solvent, swarf and the odd screw. The wheels turn on precision bearings rather than a plain bore, which keeps the units rolling smoothly under full load instead of scrubbing and juddering. That difference is felt at the start of the push — breaking a heavy car away from a standstill is where cheap casters bind. Rubber-Faced Pads and a Frame That Spreads the Load The lifting pad on each unit is coated in protective rubber. On a polished or powder-coated wheel, a bare steel contact face leaves marks that no amount of apology fixes on a customer's car, so the rubber is doing real work: it grips the tire and rim area without scoring the finish. Underneath, the frame is high-strength tubular steel with reinforced cross members, finished in durable powder coat. The cross members are why the frame stays flat under load instead of racking — a dolly that twists puts its load onto two wheels instead of four and becomes unpredictable to push. Perfect For Restoration and project builds — move a rolling shell or a drivetrain-less body around the shop without a tow strap. Storage and collector garages — park vehicles closer together than driving them in would allow, and pull one out of the middle without moving the rest. Professional service bays — reposition a non-runner that arrived on a flatbed, or clear a bay quickly at close of day. Body shops and detail shops — rotate a car in place to work the far side without repositioning lights and equipment. Serious home garages — recover floor space in a two-car garage that is currently working like a one-car garage. What's in the Box Assembly is straightforward and needs no specialized tools; all necessary hardware is included, and the units are designed to go together in minutes rather than in an afternoon. When they are not in use they stow flat and compact. One thing the manufacturer's listing does not state plainly is how many units come in a purchase — the capacity figures are quoted both per unit and for a set of four, which is not the same as a promise of four in the carton. Because that determines whether you can actually move a vehicle when the shipment arrives, please confirm the pack quantity with us before you order rather than assuming either answer. Specifications Model RCD-2500 Capacity, each unit 2,500 lbs Capacity, set of four 10,000 lbs Length Approx. 24 in. Width Approx. 18 in. Height Approx. 6 in. Lift travel Up to 3 in. Wheel diameter 4 in., flat-free polymer Frame High-strength tubular steel, powder coated Certification, Stated Honestly Ranger publishes no third-party safety listing for this product on the data we hold, and we are not going to imply one. That is worth knowing rather than glossing over: some insurers, fleet safety policies and municipal inspectors require independently listed lifting equipment for anything used to support a vehicle, and a wheel dolly is generally treated as a moving aid rather than as vehicle support in the first place. If your operation is subject to a written equipment standard, check the wording of that standard before you buy, and use rated stands or a lift for any work performed under a vehicle. Shipping and Delivery This item ships within the lower 48 states, free of charge. Heavier items in this category move as freight, which means you or someone at the delivery address must be able to receive and unload the shipment, or arrange to collect it from the carrier's terminal. Deliveries to a residential address carry an additional fee, which is shown before you pay. Inspect the shipment before you sign. Note any crushed packaging, shifted load or visible damage on the bill of lading at the moment of delivery — a signed clean BOL makes a damage claim far harder afterwards. Warranty Ranger's warranty for this product is published as a downloadable document, and that document — not a summary on a retail page — is what governs the coverage, so we do not quote a term here. Download it from the product page and read the exclusions before you buy if warranty length is part of your decision. One practical warning that applies whatever the terms say: do not disassemble a unit before making a claim. Opening a frame or a wheel assembly to diagnose a problem yourself is the most common reason a legitimate claim is denied. Photograph the issue, keep the packaging if the damage looks like it happened in transit, and call us first.
