Ranger R76ATR-L Tire Changer and DST30P Balancer Package Most wheel-service purchases go wrong at the second machine, not the first. A shop buys a quick changer, keeps the balancer it already owns, and discovers that the queue simply moved: tires now come off faster than they can be spun and corrected. This package exists to close that gap. It matches the R76ATR-L to the DST30P — a balancer specified around a short spin cycle and a 36 mm shaft — and throws in the adhesive weights that both of them are useless without. Start with the balancer, because that is where the day is won or lost Balancing is not one operation, it is a loop: mount the assembly, spin it, read the correction, place the weight, re-spin to confirm. Every second inside that loop is multiplied by every wheel on every vehicle, so a cycle measured in seconds rather than tens of seconds is worth more across a week than almost any headline figure on the changer. The DST30P is built for exactly that: floor-to-floor times short enough that the technician is not standing still, and a calculation that looks for the minimum correction rather than the first workable one. Using less weight per wheel is better for the customer's rim and cheaper for your stock of weights, and it is the sort of saving that only shows up in a monthly consumables bill. What the 36 mm shaft is doing A balancer's shaft is the reference everything else is measured against. If the assembly can move on the shaft, or the shaft itself can flex under a heavy wheel, the machine will faithfully report an imbalance that is partly its own. A 36 mm spindle with properly matched cones is what keeps the wheel located in the same place for the spin and for the confirmation spin, which is why two consecutive readings on the same wheel should agree. Repeatability, not raw sensitivity, is the property that stops a comeback. The changer alongside it The R76ATR-L is a tilt-back machine with a single tower assist on the right. The tilt-back arrangement means the mount and demount head does not have to be re-set every time the wheel size changes, and the assist tower is there for the beads that will not cooperate — stiff sidewalls, reinforced light-truck tires, run-flats. RimGuard clamps cover a 10" to 30" range against a 30" rated capacity, which is wide enough that the machine is rarely the reason a job gets turned away in a general repair shop. The consumables are in the package Adhesive steel tape weights, black and silver combination, on rolls, each segment a quarter of an ounce, 1/2" wide, the set listed at 22 lbs of steel. This matters more than it reads. A balancer with no weights in the drawer is a machine that cannot finish a job, and tape weights are the correct default on modern alloy wheels where a clip-on either will not seat on the flange or sits where the customer will see it. Quick-Peel backing means the technician is not fighting the adhesive liner with a fingernail on every placement. A word about configuration before you order This package is sold as a specific factory combination — a particular changer configuration matched to a particular balancer configuration — and the two do not necessarily run from the same supply. We are not going to print an electrical specification here that we cannot stand behind for your unit, so treat this as the one thing to settle before you buy: tell us the supply available in the bay and we will confirm the configuration that ships to you. The same goes for shop air and for anchoring guidance, both of which are answered from the manufacturer's documentation rather than from a product page. Perfect For Independent tire shops and general repair shops opening or re-equipping a wheel bay, where both machines are being bought at once and matching them is the whole point. Busy service departments that want a balancer that keeps pace with a modern changer instead of becoming the bottleneck. Fleet workshops handling light trucks, where the assist tower does real work on stiff sidewalls. A high-end home workshop can run this happily, but the case for it is throughput, and throughput is a commercial argument. What's in the Box R76ATR-L tire changer with tilt-back tower and right-side assist DST30P wheel balancer Adhesive steel tape wheel weights on rolls, black and silver combination Anything beyond those three items — extra cones, adapters, wheel-protection kits, lubricant — is not confirmed by this listing. The Numbers That Matter Balancer shaft 36 mm Changer clamping range 10" - 30" Changer rated capacity 30" Tape weight width 1/2" Tape weight set 22 lbs Certification, honestly There is no independent third-party safety listing published for this package, and we will not gesture at one. Tire changers and balancers generally sit outside the third-party listing scheme that covers vehicle lifts, but that is a statement about the category, not a clean bill of health for a specific insurer or a specific municipal inspector. If your policy, your fleet contract or your local licensing rules require documentation on powered shop equipment, ask us for what the manufacturer supplies for these models before the order goes in. It is a five-minute question that occasionally changes which machine you should buy. Delivery, and what you need at your end Freight only, within the lower 48 states. Somebody at your end has to get a pallet off the truck: a forklift is ideal, a pallet jack and two people on level ground will do, and terminal collection is a perfectly reasonable choice if your building has no dock. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee. Inspect before you sign — write any damage onto the delivery paperwork while the driver is still there, because an unqualified signature makes a later claim very difficult. Warranty and the claim you can spoil One warranty document covers the manufacturer's product range; ask and we will send you the current version for these models rather than paraphrasing a term we would then be responsible for. Regardless of the term, do not let anybody disassemble a faulty machine before the claim has been opened. Stripping a unit down to see what happened is the single most common way a valid warranty claim turns into a negotiation, and the day of downtime it was supposed to save is rarely worth what it costs.
