Ranger Lug Bolt Flange Kit for Ranger Wheel Balancers This kit centres the wheel on its bolt circle instead of its centre bore. That single change is the whole reason it exists, and it is worth understanding before you decide whether you need one. A standard cone locates the wheel by pushing into the centre bore — the hole in the middle. But most wheels do not actually locate on that hole when they are bolted to the vehicle; they locate on the studs and the flat mounting face. Balance a wheel on its centre bore, fit it to the hub on its bolt circle, and any difference between those two centres becomes a vibration that was never on the balancer's display. A flange plate mounts the wheel the way the vehicle does. The result is a balance that holds when the wheel goes back on the car, which is the only place the balance actually matters. When a cone is not enough Most of the time a cone is fine, and nobody should replace their cones with this. The cases where it stops being fine are specific and recognisable: The customer comes back. The wheel reads zero on the balancer and still vibrates on the road. This is the classic symptom of a wheel that balances on one centre and runs on another. Lug-centric wheels. Some aftermarket and OEM wheels genuinely locate on the studs rather than on a hub pilot, and a cone has nothing meaningful to grip. Damaged or oversized centre bores. A bore that has been corroded, machined out or knocked about gives a cone an unreliable seat. High-value wheels where a second attempt is expensive and a comeback is worse. In each of those, the flange plate is not a refinement — it is the difference between a job that is finished and a job that is coming back. What the kit includes The kit ships as a flange plate assembly with centering pin adapters covering most import and domestic passenger cars and light trucks, together with a measuring caliper. The caliper is not an afterthought: the flange has to be set to the wheel's actual bolt circle, and measuring that accurately is what makes the whole method work. A flange set by eye reintroduces exactly the error it was bought to remove. Will It Fit? This is tooling for Ranger wheel balancers, and it has to match the shaft on the machine you own. Balancer shafts vary in diameter and thread between models, so before ordering, tell us which Ranger balancer you have — model number from the plate, not from memory — and we will confirm the fit. That check takes a minute and prevents the most common problem with balancer tooling, which is a kit that is correct in every respect except the one that matters. Shipping weight 18-lbs. (8.1 kg) Shipping dimensions 14" x 14" x 6" (355 mm x 355 mm x 152 mm) Perfect For Tire shops chasing comebacks that the balancer says should not exist. Performance and custom wheel work, where lug-centric fitments turn up regularly. Shops handling high-value alloys where a second visit costs more than the tooling. Any Ranger balancer owner who has run out of explanations for a persistent vibration. Certification and shipping This is a tooling accessory, not a machine: it carries no rating of its own, changes nothing about your balancer's published capacities, and our record for it claims no third-party safety listing — we will not imply one. It ships within the lower 48 states at 18-lbs. (8.1 kg). Check the packaging before you sign for it and note any damage on the delivery receipt in writing. Ranger's warranty terms are in the warranty document linked on this page, and that document governs; on tooling, contact us before modifying or machining any part of the kit, because an altered flange is no longer the part the manufacturer supplied.
