Elevated ATV Clamps: Turn a NextGen Changer Into an ATV and Motorcycle Machine This is the kit that stops a shop from turning away powersports work. It is a set of four elevated expansion clamp adapters for Ranger NextGen series tire changers, supplied together with an ATV mount/demount head — one part number that converts a machine you already own into one that services quads, side-by-sides and motorcycle wheels, instead of a second machine you would have to find floor space and budget for. The word doing the work in the name is elevated. Standard table clamps grip a wheel more or less at table height, which is fine for a car rim and awkward for the short, wide, deeply offset wheels that come off an ATV. Raising the clamping plane lifts the wheel off the tabletop, gives the mount/demount head somewhere sensible to sit relative to the rim edge, and keeps the bead breaker and the tool head clear of a table they would otherwise be fighting. Will It Fit Your Tire Changer? Read this section before anything else, because it is where powersports clamp kits go wrong. These clamps are made for Ranger NextGen series changers. Ranger's own guidance is explicit: check the specific clamp model number against your machine to be sure you are getting the right clamps for your tire changer. That is not boilerplate caution. Table clamps bolt to a specific jaw pattern, and a clamp designed for a different jaw or a different table diameter will either not mount at all or will mount without seating properly, which is worse. The model plate on your changer, and the part number stamped or cast into your existing clamps, are the two things that settle it in under a minute. Send both to us and we will confirm before you order — a clamp kit is not something you want to discover is wrong with a customer's quad already on the lift. Confirming machine compatibility is the buyer's responsibility, and it is a genuinely easy check. We would much rather do it with you up front than process a return. An Extra 4 in. of External Clamping Capacity The elevated design increases external wheel clamping capacity by 4 in. On a car changer that number sounds small. On powersports wheels it is often the entire difference between a job you can take and one you cannot, because ATV and UTV wheels sit at the wide end of what a standard clamp range reaches externally, and side-by-side wheels have grown steadily wider as the machines have. Clamping externally — on the outer rim edge rather than from inside the barrel — is also the gentler approach on the finished face of an alloy powersports wheel, and it is generally the faster setup once the clamps are in position. Built to Live on a Working Table The clamps are heavy steel, which is what you want on a component that gets torqued against a rim thousands of times and is expected to hold its shape. Steel that flexes lets a wheel walk under the tool head, and a wheel that walks is the one that gets marked. On top of that steel sits an anodized finish, and this is the detail worth understanding rather than skimming. Anodizing is a conversion of the surface itself rather than a coating laid on top of it, so it does not chip off in flakes the way paint does when a rim edge scrapes across it. On a part whose entire job involves metal-to-metal contact with expensive wheels, a finish that stays put is a finish that keeps rims unmarked for longer. Quick-Release Locking, Because Setup Time Is the Real Cost Each clamp secures to the table with a quick-release, spring-loaded locking pin. The spring is the point: a pin that has to be held, aligned and threaded is a pin that eventually gets left half-engaged on a busy afternoon, and a clamp that is not fully locked to the table is the failure mode that damages a wheel or a technician's hand. A spring-loaded pin drops home on its own and stays there. Practically, it also means swapping between car work and ATV work is a change measured in minutes rather than a job you schedule — which is what makes taking occasional powersports work economic in the first place. Perfect For Independent tire shops adding ATV, UTV and motorcycle service to an existing NextGen changer. Powersports dealerships that need proper wheel clamping rather than improvised padding and ratchet straps. Rural and agricultural service shops where quads and side-by-sides are working vehicles, not toys. Fleet and grounds maintenance operations running utility vehicles in numbers. Serious home and club workshops already equipped with a NextGen changer. What's in the Box Set of four clamp adapters for Ranger NextGen tire changers ATV mount/demount head That is the complete stated contents. The kit is an accessory set for a machine you already own — it does not include a tire changer, a bead breaker or wheel protectors, and nothing in the manufacturer's description suggests otherwise. Specifications Fits Ranger NextGen series tire changers (verify clamp model number) Contents Four clamp adapters plus ATV mount/demount head Added external clamping capacity 4 in. Construction Heavy steel, anodized finish Retention Quick-release, spring-loaded locking pin Shipping weight 12 lbs Certification, Stated Honestly No third-party approval or listing scheme is claimed for this accessory in the data we hold, and we are not going to imply one. That is the ordinary situation for tooling that attaches to a machine: the changer itself is the equipment your insurer or safety auditor will ask about, and any workplace standard you are held to will address the machine and its guarding rather than the clamps bolted to its table. If you work under a written equipment policy that covers attachments too, read its wording before ordering. Shipping and Delivery Shipped within the lower 48 states, free of charge. At a published shipping weight of 12 lbs this normally moves as a parcel rather than as freight, although it can travel on a freight shipment if you order it together with a machine. Where freight does apply, someone at the delivery address must be able to receive and unload it or collect from the carrier's terminal, and residential addresses carry an additional delivery fee that is shown before you pay. Check the shipment before signing for it. On a freight delivery, write any damage on the bill of lading at the time of delivery — a signed clean bill makes a later claim considerably harder. Warranty Ranger publishes the warranty for this product as a downloadable document, and that document is what governs, so we do not restate a term here. Download it from the product page and read the exclusions if coverage matters to your decision. If something is wrong, do not modify, machine or disassemble the clamps before you contact us. Taking a part apart to work out what happened is the most common way a valid claim gets refused. Photograph it as received, keep the packaging, and call us first.
