Quincy QGS 30 HP 132 Gallon Rotary Screw Air Compressor, 3-Phase The specification worth reading first on part number 4152026533 is the lubrication interval: Quincy specifies a premium synthetic fluid rated for 8,000 hours. On a machine built for a 100% duty cycle that is a real operating-cost number rather than a marketing one — it is the difference between a fluid change as an annual event and a fluid change as a recurring interruption, and low oil carryover over that interval is what keeps the fluid in the airend instead of in your pipework and your tools. The rest of the package is a 30 HP oil-injected twin screw airend on a 132-gallon horizontal receiver, with an aftercooler, a full sound enclosure and Infologic2 control — compression and storage arriving together on one skid, behind one power connection. Will It Fit? Siting and power Footprint. 74" long, 30.7" wide and 72.2" tall, weighing 1,237 lbs. The horizontal receiver gives the package a long, narrow plan that generally suits a wall run rather than a floor island. Leave room to swing the hinged doors and lift off the detachable panels — the fast servicing this machine is designed for only happens if that access exists. Electrical. The motor is listed as 208-230/460V, 3-Phase. Quincy publishes neither an amp draw nor a recommended breaker size for it, stating that a certified electrician should be consulted, and we are not going to put a number where the manufacturer deliberately declined to. Your electrician sizes the feeder and the overcurrent protection from the nameplate on the delivered machine. Book that visit before you book the delivery. Plumbing and drainage. The receiver outlet is 1". An electronic drain valve is listed as not fitted, so draining condensate from a 132-gallon tank is a manual routine that has to belong to someone by name. Put it on a schedule; an undrained receiver is the quickest way to shorten the life of the most expensive single component in the package. Establishing that the room, the floor, the supply and the ventilation suit a machine designed to run continuously is the customer's responsibility, and it is far cheaper done before the crate arrives than after. Why an 8,000 hour fluid interval changes the sums Rotary screw compressors are bought on capacity and owned on consumables, and the fluid interval sets the rhythm of every other service task. A synthetic specified for 8,000 hours puts a single-shift shop on a service cadence measured in years rather than months, and keeps a continuously running plant on a manageable schedule instead of a constant one. Low oil carryover matters beyond cost, too: fluid that leaves the airend ends up downstream, contaminating tools, coating pipework and ruining finishes. Constant fluid monitoring, a spin-on fluid filter and an oil sight glass are all specified, along with low-oil shutdown on both engine and pump — so the machine watches the fluid rather than relying on someone remembering to. Oil-injected twin screw, and what the enclosure does An oil-injected twin screw airend compresses continuously between two meshing rotors rather than in the discrete strokes of a piston machine. The practical consequences are the ones you notice daily: far less vibration, a steadier delivery without the pulsation a piston pump puts into the line, and a 100% duty cycle rating that means the machine is designed to run without stopping rather than for a share of each hour. That rating is what lets you size against continuous demand instead of a short-lived peak. The full sound enclosure is what turns smoother mechanics into a quieter shop, and it is the basis of the quiet operation claim rather than an add-on. The TEFC electric motor carries IP 55 wash-down protection against dirt, moisture and weather — useful anywhere the compressor shares air with sanding, welding, washing or milling — and a Wye-Delta reduced voltage start to soften inrush on the building supply. The Infologic2 Basic microprocessor controller offers programmable auto-restart and remote start/stop and will network up to six compressors, with a display panel showing auto-run, general alarm and power-on indication alongside pressure and temperature. Perfect For Shops watching running costs. The 8,000 hour fluid interval is the number that shows up in the maintenance budget. Single-delivery installs. Compressor and 132-gallon receiver arrive plumbed on one skid. Dusty or damp environments. IP 55 wash-down protection on the motor. All-shift air demand. A 100% duty cycle rating rather than a piston compressor's rest periods. What's in the Box Quincy lists this as the QGS rotary screw compressor, the Infologic2 Basic Controller and display panel, the TEFC electric motor with IP 55 wash-down protection and the 132-gallon horizontal receiver, together with an aftercooler, oil sight glass, pressure gauge, air filter and low-oil shutdown on engine and pump. An electronic drain valve is listed as not included. Wiring, installation and commissioning are separate work, and see the note under the specification table about the air dryer. Published information differs on whether this part number includes an integrated refrigerated air dryer. The product title and the manufacturer's specification sheet say it does not; the feature list and the older description text say it does. Rather than carry one of them through and risk selling you air treatment you will not receive — or talking you out of some you would have — the dryer is left out of the specification above and flagged here instead. If drying matters to your installation, contact us before you order and we will confirm the configuration against the manufacturer's build sheet. Two of the rows above also carry their unit in the row label with a bare figure in the cell, which is how the manufacturer's own block records them. Certification, stated honestly The specification sheet records an ASME certification for this unit, and on a tank-mounted package that is where it belongs — the 132-gallon receiver is a pressure vessel, and a coded vessel is generally what an inspector or an insurer wants to see. What our product data does not record is any independent electrical or equipment safety listing covering the packaged machine as a whole, and we are not going to imply one exists. If your jurisdiction, your insurer or an internal engineering standard requires an independent third-party listing on installed plant, settle it before you buy rather than at inspection; ask us and we will obtain the manufacturer's documentation in advance. Shipping and Delivery This item ships free within the lower 48 states, so there is nothing to add at checkout. At 1,237 lbs on a long skid you will need a dock or a forklift to take delivery, or you can collect from the carrier's terminal instead. A residential delivery carries a residential fee, shown at checkout when it applies. Inspect the crate before signing and write any damage onto the bill of lading at the point of delivery — a clean signature is very difficult to walk back afterwards, and a few photographs taken while the driver is still on site are usually what settles a claim. Warranty Published standard cover is 1 Year consumer and 1 Year commercial. An extended 3 Year factory warranty is available, and the True Blue 5-Year warranty applies where a Quincy authorised start-up commissions the machine. That last term is conditional on who commissions it, so the decision has to be taken before first run rather than after a problem appears. Under any term, do not disassemble the airend or the motor before a claim has been raised and assessed — a stripped component is routinely treated as an unverifiable fault. Keep the commissioning record with your fluid and filter change history; a claim on a machine with an 8,000 hour fluid interval will certainly ask when the fluid was last changed.
