Quincy QGS 5 HP Rotary Screw Air Compressor with Integrated Dryer, 60 Gallons The refrigerated air dryer on this package is built into the machine, and that is the whole argument for buying it. Dry air is not a luxury in a shop that paints, runs air logic, or feeds precision tools — water in the line ruins finishes, rusts tooling and jams valves. The usual route to dry air is a second box, bolted to the wall, plumbed in, powered separately and commissioned separately. Here it is inside the same enclosure, sharing the same footprint and the same electrical connection. You get treated air from the outlet on day one without designing an air-treatment system first. The rest of the package is built to match. It is a 5 HP oil-injected rotary screw compressor on a 60-gallon receiver, rated for a continuous 100% duty cycle, inside a factory quiet enclosure that holds the machine to 62 dBA. That noise figure is the one people underestimate: 62 dBA is conversation-level, which means this can live in the working area rather than being exiled to a compressor room nobody wants to build. Rotary screw versus a piston pump A reciprocating compressor pumps in strokes: it builds pressure, stops, cools, and starts again. It is efficient at what it does but it is not designed to run without pause, and its duty cycle is a real limit. A rotary screw compresses continuously between two meshing rotors. There is no reciprocating mass, so vibration is low, and no rest cycle is required — hence the continuous 100% duty rating here. For a shop whose air demand is steady rather than spiky, that changes the character of the equipment: the machine settles into a load and stays there instead of hammering on and off all day. Synthetic lubricant and the service interval The unit runs premium synthetic lubrication rated for up to 8,000 hours of service, with low oil carryover into the air stream. Two things follow. First, the oil-change interval is measured in years for most shops rather than months, which matters because a rotary screw's oil change is a more involved job than topping up a piston pump. Second, low carryover means less oil reaching the dryer and the downstream filtration, and less oil in the air at the tool. A TEFC motor and a long-life V-belt drive carry the load, and the machine runs on simple start/stop control. Will It Fit? Footprint. 56" long by 23" wide — genuinely compact for a screw compressor with a dryer inside it. Leave clearance on the service side and in front of the cooling air intake and discharge; an enclosure that cannot breathe will run hot and trip. Height. 51" overall. Weight. 543 lbs. Lighter than a comparable two-stage piston machine on a big tank, but still a palletised freight item. Power. Three-phase, listed at 208-230/460V. On this build Quincy lists the amp draw as 28 A and a recommended 60 amp breaker — unusually, an actual published breaker size rather than a referral. It remains a licensed electrician's call, because your conductor run and local code govern the final answer. Air connection. A 1/2" outlet from the tank. The slab, the electrical feed, the disconnect, the connection to your air main and the condensate drain routing from the dryer are the customer's responsibility. A refrigerated dryer produces liquid water in normal operation and it has to go somewhere you have chosen deliberately. Perfect For Paint and refinishing work, where the dryer is the reason to buy rather than an accessory. Small shops with no compressor room, where 62 dBA lets the machine sit in the space it serves. Steady-demand operations — production cells, air logic, continuous assembly — that suit a machine designed to run rather than cycle. Anyone replacing a noisy piston compressor whose duty cycle has become the bottleneck. What's in the Box A turn-key package: rotary screw airend, TEFC motor, V-belt drive, 60-gallon receiver, integrated refrigerated air dryer, quiet enclosure, start/stop control and magnetic starter, with the synthetic lubricant charge in place. Shop piping, point-of-use filtration and regulation, the electrical feed and disconnect, and the condensate drain line are not included. The packing list in the crate is what governs. That is a real, third-party-administered construction and test standard for the tank, and it is worth having — but it is a statement about the vessel, not about the electrical assembly, the enclosure or the dryer circuit. We are not going to imply anything beyond that. Our data records no further safety listing for this machine, and some insurers, fleet operations and local jurisdictions do require a specific third-party listing on permanently installed shop equipment. If that applies to your site, establish exactly what listing is demanded and verify it against this unit's data plate before you commit, rather than discovering the gap at inspection. Ask us and we will check the factory documentation with you. Before You Order — Please Confirm The model number. Our records carry two different part numbers for this listing — the product's own web address uses one, and the product data and description use another. The machine described here is the QGS 5 HP package with the integrated dryer, but if you are matching a quote, a tender or an existing installation to an exact part number, confirm it with us in writing first. Air delivery and rated pressure. Our specification data gives a maximum pressure of 150 PSI, which is the figure used above. An older meta description on this listing quotes a different pressure and a rounded air-delivery figure that our specification data does not support, so we have not repeated it. We have also left the CFM figure off the page entirely, because the value we hold is not recorded against a unit of measure we can verify. Ask us for the factory rating before you size your piping. Shipping and Delivery This is a freight shipment within the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout once we have your delivery ZIP. It arrives on a pallet at 543 lbs, so you must have a way to take it off the truck — forklift, loading dock, or a terminal pickup where the carrier's depot does the unloading. Deliveries to residential addresses carry a residential fee, quoted alongside the freight. Inspect it before you sign: check the enclosure panels for dents, look at the dryer section, the receiver and the feet, and write anything you find onto the bill of lading while the driver is present. A clean signature makes a later damage claim extremely hard to pursue. Warranty Coverage on this package comes in tiers and the tiers have conditions, so read this part carefully. The standard factory warranty is 1 year. An extended 3-year factory warranty is available. Quincy's True Blue 5-year warranty is offered with a Quincy authorized start-up — meaning the longest term is not automatic with purchase; it depends on the machine being commissioned by an authorized party and registered correctly. If the 5-year term is part of why you are buying, arrange the authorized start-up as part of the installation rather than after the fact, because it generally cannot be applied retrospectively. And the standing advice: if a fault develops, contact us before the enclosure comes off and before anyone opens the airend. A unit that has been taken apart ahead of a claim is usually a unit that can no longer be claimed.
