Originally measured at 5 kg, the vest weighs approximately 11 lb and is designed to distribute resistance around the upper body while allowing you to move naturally. The added weight can make familiar Pilates exercises feel more challenging without requiring you to hold dumbbells or interrupt your form. It is an effective accessory for experienced users who want to increase the intensity of mat Pilates, reformer workouts, walking, standing exercises, squats, lunges, and functional strength training. Product Weight: Approximately 11 lb Metric Weight: 5 kg Recommended Use: Pilates, reformer training, walking, strength exercises, and low-impact conditioning Why Use a Weighted Vest for Pilates? Pilates is built around control, alignment, stability, and precise movement. Adding a weighted vest increases resistance while keeping your hands free, helping you focus on posture and exercise technique. Increases exercise intensity: The additional resistance can make controlled Pilates movements more demanding. Supports strength development: Added load encourages the muscles to work harder during squats, lunges, bridges, standing work, and other strength-focused movements. Challenges core stability: Your core must work to maintain control and alignment while moving with the additional weight. Keeps your hands free: Unlike handheld weights, the vest allows you to use straps, hold the reformer footbar, or support yourself during balance exercises. Adds variety to your routine: The vest provides a simple way to progress familiar exercises without completely changing your workout. Useful beyond Pilates: It may also be worn during walking, body-weight training, and other low-impact fitness routines. Designed for Controlled Movement A weighted vest should feel secure without unnecessarily restricting your movement. The close-to-body design helps reduce shifting while you transition between standing, kneeling, seated, and lying positions. It can be especially useful for exercises such as standing leg work, squats, lunges, calf raises, bridges, controlled step-ups, reformer footwork, and selected core exercises. Always choose movements that allow you to maintain proper form while wearing the additional weight. How to Use It Safely Begin with simple, familiar movements before progressing to complex exercises. Maintain a neutral posture and avoid allowing the weight to pull you forward. Move slowly and stay focused on control rather than speed. Stop using the vest if you experience pain, dizziness, numbness, or discomfort. Avoid using it during exercises where the weight interferes with breathing or spinal positioning. Consult a qualified instructor before using it with advanced reformer exercises.
