Gargoyle Mobiloils and Greases Enamel Sign Vacuum Oil Company c1920 An original early 20th century enamel advertising sign for Gargoyle Mobiloils and Greases, issued by the Vacuum Oil Company Ltd. The sign features the striking red Gargoyle emblem above bold black lettering on a white ground, advertising Mobiloils and Greases, with the company name along the lower edge. This example shows period wear, with rusting to the edges and losses to the enamel surface, giving it a powerful industrial presence. The graphic remains strong and legible, and the wear confirms this as a genuine working garage or industrial sign rather than a later decorative reproduction. A classic piece of early motoring and industrial advertising, well suited to garage, workshop, loft or commercial interior display. ConditionOriginal unrestored condition. The sign shows surface wear, rusting and enamel losses consistent with long-term outdoor or workshop use. The remaining enamel and graphics are stable, and all wear is commensurate with age. The condition is entirely authentic and forms a significant part of its visual appeal. DimensionsH: 46 cm x L: 61 cm x W: 0.2 cm approximately EraCirca 1915–1930, early 20th century
