The indexing tabs keep the handguard secure against the receiver to prevent rotation while firing. In addition to the full length picatinny top rail, the Combat Handguard features M-LOK slots on seven sides for plenty of room for customization to set your rifle up exactly how you want without the need of heavy picatinny rails that won’t get used.
