Product Description MaxJax Reclining Hi-Low Adjustable Creeper Seat Most shops own a creeper and a stool, and neither one is right for half the jobs. This is both, on one frame: the seat drops to 3.25 in. (83 mm) off the floor for sill and rocker work, and rises to 44 in. (1,118 mm) so you are looking straight into an engine bay or across a workbench. It is also made in the USA, which on a shop consumable that gets sat on, rolled over and kicked every day is worth knowing. The back reclines through five positions and the front adjusts through three, so the seat can be set flat-backed and upright for close work, laid back for reaching under a wing, or somewhere between for the two hours you are going to spend on a wiring loom. Why the Height Range Matters More Than It Sounds Working posture is what determines whether a technician is still comfortable at four in the afternoon. Too low into an engine bay and you are supporting your own upper body all day; too high under a sill and you are craning sideways. A seat that spans 3.25 in. to 44 in. covers essentially the whole range of seated work around a vehicle — floor-level, wheel-arch, bench and bay — without swapping equipment or standing up and dragging something else over. It is also the reason this seat suits a lift bay. With a vehicle raised on a mid-rise or portable lift, the useful working height moves constantly; a fixed-height stool commits you to one job. Frame, Casters and Capacity The frame is 0.75 in. steel tube, powder coated rather than painted. That matters in a workshop for one specific reason: powder coat resists the chipping that starts rust, and a creeper seat lives its life being knocked against jack stands and dropped tools. The padding is described as super plush and is fully wrapped in heavy-duty vinyl, so brake fluid, coolant and grease wipe off rather than soak in, and a slightly raised headrest supports the neck when the back is reclined. It rolls on six 2.5 in. oil-resistant caster rollers, all swivelling. Six wheels rather than four spreads the load and makes the seat far less inclined to tip when you push off sideways. Oil resistance is not a marketing word here — ordinary rubber wheels swell, soften and eventually crumble on a floor with oil and solvent on it, which is exactly the floor this thing lives on. Ground clearance is 2.5 in. when fully lowered, enough to roll over an air line or an extension cord instead of stopping dead on it. Rated capacity is 570 lbs (259 kg). That is a generous margin for a seated technician and whatever leaning, pushing and pulling the job involves, which is the load case that actually breaks cheap seats. Will It Fit Your Bay? The seat measures 44 in. (1,118 mm) long and 17 in. (432 mm) wide, so it parks in the gap between a lift column and a toolbox rather than needing a spot of its own. Check the aisle you intend to roll it down — 17 in. of width is narrow, but six casters want a reasonably flat floor to be worth having. Expansion joints and broken concrete are what stop small casters. Perfect For Professional technicians who spend hours seated at varying heights and feel it the next day. Detailing and paint correction work, where low, stable, mobile seating around the lower panels is the whole job. Home and enthusiast garages — one seat covering the roles of a creeper, a stool and a step-side perch. Anyone with a bad back or knees who would rather roll along a vehicle than kneel down and get up twenty times a day. What's in the Box The creeper seat itself, with its casters, padded reclining back and headrest. Our data does not itemise anything beyond that and does not state whether assembly is required, so we are not going to imply either way — if that matters to you, ask us before ordering and we will confirm with the manufacturer. Origin Made in the USA Certification, Honestly Our data records no third-party listing or conformity marking for this seat, and we will not print one we cannot evidence. For a shop seat that is unremarkable — this is not a category where an independent listing is normally issued. If your workplace safety programme or an insurer's schedule asks for documented seating or load-rated equipment, tell us what the requirement names and we will ask the manufacturer for whatever paperwork exists rather than guess on your behalf. Shipping and Delivery This item ships free within the lower 48 states, so there is nothing to add at checkout. One honest note about the carton figures: the specification table gives shipping dimensions as 18 in. x 7 in. x 45 in. alongside 431 mm x 431 mm x 127 mm, and those two sets do not convert to one another — the metric figures in that row are unreliable. Treat the inch figures as the guide, and if the exact carton size matters to you (a terminal collection, a loading restriction, a lift-door measurement), ask us and we will confirm it before the order ships. Whatever the carrier, inspect the package before you sign for it and record any damage on the delivery receipt at the time of delivery; a receipt signed clean makes a damage claim very hard to pursue afterwards. Warranty This product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and the terms that apply are set out on our warranty claims page. We have not printed a period here because our data for this item does not state one — ask us and we will confirm it before you buy. If a fault appears, contact us first and leave the item as it is: taking equipment apart or attempting a repair before a claim is opened is the most common reason a valid claim gets refused.
