Primer & Sealer for Porous or Weathered Masonry Kingfisher Weatherflex Stabilising Solution is a solvent-free, fine-particle, pure acrylic ester copolymer primer, sealer, and stabiliser for masonry surfaces. It is specifically formulated to harden friable or chalking substrates, ensuring a stable base for subsequent coatings. This solution enhances adhesion, improves the depth of colour finish, and often reduces the amount of paint required. Key Features & Benefits Stabilises & Hardens: Effectively binds and primes chalking or dusty surfaces, preparing them for painting. Improves Adhesion: Enhances the bond between the substrate and masonry paint, promoting a longer-lasting finish. Reduces Paint Consumption: By sealing porous surfaces, it often decreases the amount of paint needed. Quick Drying: Dries within 4–8 hours under normal conditions, allowing for timely application of topcoats. Easy Application: Ready to use with brush, roller, or low-pressure sprayer. Solvent-Free: Eco-friendly formulation with low VOC content. Ideal For Stabilising friable or "soft" masonry due to weathering. Priming chalking surfaces prone to dusting. Preparing newly cement-rendered surfaces for painting. Reducing absorbency of porous exterior surfaces like brick, stone, and concrete. Product Details Colour: Clear upon drying. Pack Size: 5 litres. Cure Time: Allow surfaces to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before applying masonry paint. Coverage: 4–6 m² per litre, depending on surface porosity. Application Temperature: Do not apply if air or surface temperature is below 8 °C. Shelf Life: 12 months in unopened, sealed containers stored in a cool, dry area away from frost and direct sunlight. Application Instructions Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from loose or friable materials. Remove any biological growth with Kingfisher Bio-Wash. Application: Apply the solution evenly using a brush, roller, or low-pressure sprayer. One coat is typically sufficient, but very porous surfaces may require an additional application. Drying Time: Allow 4–8 hours for each coat to fully dry, depending on ambient temperature. Topcoat Application: For best results, allow surfaces to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before applying Kingfisher Weatherflex Smooth Masonry Paint. Safety & Storage Protective Measures: Wear gloves and overalls during application. If applying by spray, wear a face mask. First Aid: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact occurs, wash immediately with plenty of water. Ventilation: Ensure good ventilation during application and drying. Storage: Store in a cool, dry area away from frost and direct sunlight.
