Katool KT-MC2 Motorcycle Wheel Adapter Katool specifies the steel this adapter is made from — Q235 and Q245 — and on a part like this that is not a detail to skim past. A balancer adapter is a rigidity component. Its only real job is to hold a wheel dead concentric on a spinning shaft and refuse to flex while the machine measures thousandths of an imbalance. A bracket that deflects tells the balancer a lie, and the technician then spends the afternoon chasing weights that never converge. The KT-MC2 fits Katool's KT-B700 and KT-B760 wheel balancers and lets them take motorcycle and powersports wheels. It is the difference between quoting a motorcycle customer and turning them away, without buying a second machine or giving up the floor space one would need. Why centering is the entire job on a bike wheel Motorcycle wheels are the hardest case for a balancer, and the reason is arithmetic rather than opinion. A car wheel is wide and heavy; a small mounting error is a small proportion of what the machine is reading. A motorcycle wheel is narrow and light, so the same physical error is a far larger share of the total, and the machine faithfully reports it as imbalance that is not in the wheel at all. The technician adds weight to correct a mounting problem, spins it, and gets a new number. What breaks that cycle is a mount that puts the wheel truly on the axis of the shaft, every time, with no play. That is what the KT-MC2's centering arrangement exists to do. Get it right and the readings settle, the corrections are real, and the wheel that leaves is genuinely balanced — which the rider will feel at speed long before they could describe it. One machine, two kinds of work The adapter mounts onto the balancer's existing shaft using the cone and collet hardware already there, so no modification is made to the machine and nothing is permanent. Switching between a car wheel and a motorcycle wheel is a matter of moments, which is what makes mixed workflow practical rather than theoretical — a shop does not need to batch its motorcycle work into a particular afternoon just because changing the machine over is a chore. The commercial case follows from that. A second, dedicated motorcycle balancer costs capital and floor area, and in most shops it would stand idle for the majority of the week. An adapter turns idle capability into available capability on equipment already bought and already paid for. Built for repeated mounting cycles An adapter lives a harder life than it looks. It gets fitted and removed constantly, torqued by whoever is on shift, and stored wherever there is room. The steel section is what stops that daily cycle turning into slop, and the machined interfaces — where it meets the shaft and where it meets the wheel — are the surfaces that matter, because wear there is wear in exactly the place accuracy comes from. Treat those faces the way you would treat the balancer's own cones: keep them clean, keep them free of corrosion, and do not over-torque them because a spanner was to hand. Fitment — read this before ordering Balancer model. This adapter is made for the Katool KT-B700 and KT-B760. Check the plate on your machine rather than working from a photograph or a memory. Your existing hardware. It mounts through the cone and collet system already on the balancer, so those parts need to be present and in good condition. The wheels you actually service. Front and rear motorcycle wheels differ in width and bearing arrangement. If you handle unusual or non-standard wheels, ask us to check fitment before you order rather than after. Training time. Almost none. Anyone who can mount a car wheel on the balancer can mount a bike wheel with this fitted, and being able to say that matters when your team turns over. Perfect For Car and light-truck shops that already own a KT-B700 or KT-B760 and keep being asked about motorcycles. Powersports dealers balancing what they sell and service in-house. Motorcycle specialists whose tyre work justifies proper balancing rather than a static stand. Mixed workshops testing whether two-wheel work is worth pursuing, before committing capital to a dedicated machine. What you receive The KT-MC2 adapter assembly for motorcycle wheels, sized for the balancers named above. Our data does not list the individual pieces of the assembly, and we would rather tell you that than write a packing list from imagination — if you need to know precisely which cones or spacers are supplied, ask us and we will check the carton contents before you commit. Specifications Model KT-MC2 Function Motorcycle wheel adapter for a wheel balancer Fits Katool KT-B700 and KT-B760 balancers Material Q235 and Q245 steel Mounting Onto the balancer's existing shaft, via its cone and collet hardware Modification required None Getting it to you Delivery covers the lower 48, and the shipping figure you see at checkout is worked out live for the address you enter, not taken from a fixed table. Collection from the warehouse is available if you would rather pick it up. Whichever route it takes, unwrap it while the carrier is still on site if you can, and note any damage on the delivery paperwork before signing — machined mounting faces are the part of this that damage hurts, and a dent in the wrong place is a dent in the accuracy you bought it for. Warranty The Katool warranty document covering this product is available from us on request, and worth reading before you order if the terms bear on the decision. If something is wrong, tell us before you take anything apart or attempt a repair: an assembly that has already been dismantled is normally treated as modified, and a claim that would have been simple becomes an argument nobody enjoys. If you want fitment confirmed against your own balancer first, get in touch and we will check it for you. Pick Up and Delivery Call, text, or chat with us if you have questions. 866-774-7743
