Katool KT-2002 Multi Manual Tire Changer Machine Katool KT-2002 Multi Manual Tire Changer The KT-2002 takes a wheel of up to 39″ overall diameter and rims from 12″ to 22″, out of a machine that measures 24.4″ long, 16.1″ wide and 15.5″ tall and weighs 132 lbs. Nothing on it plugs in and nothing on it needs an air line. That is the whole argument for this changer: full passenger-car and light-truck wheel coverage out of a unit with roughly the footprint of a large toolbox, running on operator leverage alone. It suits the technician who changes tyres regularly rather than constantly — a small independent garage, a mobile service van, a trailer and ATV yard, a well-equipped home workshop. It is also the machine a busy shop parks in the corner for the day the powered changer is down, because a manual changer has no compressor to lose and no motor to burn out. What it asks of your shop With no power unit and no pneumatics the setup list is short, but it is not empty, and the parts of it that belong to you are worth reading before you order rather than after the crate lands. Space. The machine occupies 24.4″ by 16.1″ and stands 15.5″ tall. Leave swing room all round for the bar and for the wheel you are working. A changer boxed into a corner is one you fight instead of operate. A solid mounting. Breaking a stubborn bead by hand puts a genuine side load into the base. The machine has to be fixed to something that will not walk — a bench, a weighted pallet base, or the floor. The fixings and the surface underneath them are the buyer's responsibility; we cannot see your building. No supply to arrange. There is nothing to wire and nothing to plumb. That is precisely why it works in a van, an unheated outbuilding, or a yard served by one extension lead. Your real wheel sizes. The published range is 12″ to 22″ rims within a 39″ maximum wheel diameter. Measure the biggest wheel you intend to service and check it against those figures first. Two people to move it. At 132 lbs it is liftable by two adults and awkward for one. Plan the unload before delivery day. Manual is not the same as basic The KT-2002 works through a bead breaker and a balanced turntable, and every stage of the job happens at the speed your hands decide. A powered changer applies force on a timer whether or not the bead has released; a manual one stops the instant you stop pushing. On a corroded steel rim, on an aftermarket alloy with a delicate lip, or on a low-profile tyre with a stiff sidewall, that feedback is what keeps a job from turning into a warranty claim on somebody's wheel. It also means the learning curve is short. There is no sequence of pedals to memorise, and a new technician can be shown the workflow once and be productive on the second wheel. Experienced hands tend to like it for the opposite reason: the machine does exactly what they tell it to, every time, with no lag between the pedal and the arm. Clamping, and what it protects The clamps adjust to grip the rim securely across the size range so the wheel does not creep while the bead is being worked. That matters more on a manual machine than on a powered one, because you are the source of the force: a wheel that slips takes the tool with it, and the mark it leaves is on the customer's rim rather than on the machine. Firm, adjustable clamping keeps the wheel where you set it and keeps the bead breaker acting on the bead rather than on the rim flange. Maintenance is inspection, not servicing There is no hydraulic circuit, no motor and no air system, so the maintenance schedule is closer to housekeeping: keep the pivot points clean and lubricated, keep tyre debris out of the turntable, and look over the contact surfaces now and then for wear. The running cost of the machine is effectively the grease. For a shop that watches its equipment budget, or for anyone who has waited a week for a compressor part, that is a real and continuing benefit rather than a marketing line. Perfect For Mobile tyre service — no generator, no compressor, no site power to negotiate. Small independent garages that fit tyres as part of a wider service offering rather than as the main business. Trailer, ATV and utility fleets, where wheels are small, numerous and rarely urgent. Home and enthusiast workshops running seasonal tyre swaps on several vehicles. Any shop wanting a backup to a powered changer, so a compressor failure does not cancel the day's bookings. What ships with it The changer arrives as the assembly described here: the frame with its balanced turntable, the bead breaker and the adjustable wheel clamps. We do not publish an itemised packing list for this model, and we would rather say so than invent one — if a specific bar, cone or accessory matters to your workflow, ask us before you order and we will check what is in the carton. Specifications Maximum wheel diameter 39″ Rim size range 12″ to 22″ Length 24.4″ Width 16.1″ Height 15.5″ Weight 132 lbs Power source Manual — no electrical or air supply Certification, stated plainly We do not list a third-party safety listing for this machine and we are not going to imply one. For most workshops that never comes up. It does come up where an insurer, an employer or a local authority names a specific listed standard for shop equipment, and that requirement is a great deal cheaper to establish before an order than after one. If it applies to you, check it first and call us with what you are told — we would rather answer honestly than sell you a machine that fails an inspection. Shipping and pickup Delivery is to the lower 48 states, and the carrier price is calculated live against your address when you check out, so what you see is a current rate rather than an estimate that has aged. Warehouse pickup can be arranged on this item if collecting suits you better — call us to set it up. Whichever way it arrives, look the packaging over before the driver leaves: check the corners, look for crushing and for anything that has shifted inside, and write what you find on the delivery paperwork at the time. Photograph it. A clean signature is treated as confirmation that the goods arrived intact, and that is an awkward position to argue out of later. Warranty Katool covers this model with a one-year warranty on all product parts. One piece of advice applies to every machine we sell: if something is not right, do not strip the assembly down before the claim is opened. A part that has already been taken apart is usually treated as a modified part, and that is the quickest way to lose cover you were entitled to. Photograph the fault, keep the packaging, and contact us first.
