Hugo Boss Boss Alive Eau de Parfum 80ml is a warm, fruity-woody fragrance for women, launched in 2020 as the brand's first major feminine pillar of the new decade. Created by master perfumer Annick Menardo, it opens with a sparkling, juicy accord of plum, apple, blackcurrant and cinnamon over a vanilla heart, leads through a soft floral-aromatic accent of jasmine sambac and thyme, and settles on a creamy, distinctive base of cedar, sandalwood and olive tree wood. The 80ml refillable flacon is the brand's most generous everyday size and a popular choice for regular wearers. The fragrance line — produced under licence by Coty — has produced bestselling pillars including Boss Bottled, Boss The Scent, Boss Femme and the Boss Alive family. Boss Alive expanded the women's wardrobe in 2020 with a deliberately ambitious, ambisexual-leaning composition aimed at confident, professional wearers, and has since been joined by Alive Intense and Alive Parfum flankers. Who it's for Boss Alive suits women drawn to warm, fruity-woody compositions with a confident, professional character — distinctive enough for personal wear yet polished enough for office and meeting environments. It works year-round but performs best from autumn through early spring and reads beautifully on evenings, dinner dates and formal occasions. Wearers of Yves Saint Laurent Libre, Chloé Nomade and Mugler Alien Goddess often appreciate Alive for its dry-wood twist on the same modern feminine register. How to use Hold the bottle around 15 cm from the skin and spray onto pulse points — the wrists, the side of the neck and behind the ears. Two to three sprays is plenty; the woody base projects clearly in the first hour. For a softer trail, mist once into the air and walk through the cloud. Longevity is good for an Eau de Parfum — typically 6–8 hours on skin and longer on clothing. Sillage is moderate-to-strong in the opening hour, anchored by the cedar-sandalwood-olive-wood drydown that gives the fragrance its distinctive close-skin warmth. What does Boss Alive smell like? Warm, fruity and softly woody. Plum, apple, blackcurrant and cinnamon open it with a juicy lift, jasmine sambac and thyme add a herbal-floral nuance, and a creamy cedar-and-olive-tree drydown gives the fragrance its signature unisex-leaning character. How does Alive compare to Boss Femme or Boss The Scent for Her? Boss Femme (2000) is a softer, white-floral composition. Boss The Scent for Her (2016) is a sweeter peach-and-roasted-coffee gourmand. Boss Alive (2020) is the most modern of the three — drier, woodier and more aromatic, with the fruity opening serving as a counterweight to the cedar-rich base.
