Hofmann GEOLINER 678 Imaging Wheel Aligner Hofmann geoliner 678: clamps that grip the wheel without touching it The geoliner 678 sits at the top of the imaging alignment family, and the feature that best explains why is at the far end of the machine from the cameras. Its AC400 wheel clamps are a touchless design: they hold the wheel securely without making contact with it, and they need no adapters to do so. On a forecourt of late-model alloys, gloss-black finishes and aftermarket wheels, a clamp that cannot mark what it grips removes a category of expensive comeback from the working day. The second reason to look at this model rather than a simpler one is that it does not stop at alignment. Its body shop vehicle check combines measurements the aligner is already taking — cross diagonal, track width and wheel base, front and rear set back, and axle offset — into a structural picture of the vehicle. That turns an alignment bay into a first-line damage-detection service, which is a different conversation to have with a body shop partner than "we align cars". Will it fit? Check the supply voltage first One number here differs from the rest of the imaging range and it is the one that can stop an installation: this aligner runs on 230 VAC 1ph 50/60 Hz, not on a standard convenience outlet. It is still single-phase, so this is a circuit question rather than a service-upgrade question, but it is a circuit your electrician needs to know about before delivery day. Power supply: 230 VAC 1ph 50/60 Hz. Track width measured: 48-96" (1,219-2,438mm). Wheel base measured: 79-180" (2,007-4,572mm). Wheel size, AC200 clamps: 12-24" (305-610 mm). Tire size, AC400 clamps: 19-39" (483-991 mm). The measured ranges above describe vehicles, not your building. No cabinet footprint, ceiling height or machine weight is published in the data we hold for this listing, so the room, the rack and the route into the bay are yours to measure. Where a dimension is critical to your decision, ask us and we will get it from the manufacturer rather than estimate it. Why touchless clamping is worth paying for Conventional wheel clamps grip the rim. That is why they come with adapter kits, why they mark wheels when they slip, and why a careful technician spends time protecting expensive finishes before a job that should take minutes. A touchless clamp changes the economics twice over: setup is faster because there is no adapter to select and fit, and the risk of damaging a customer's wheel during a routine alignment largely disappears. Multiply the saved setup across a full day of alignments and it becomes a throughput feature, not a cosmetic one. Software written to reach the reading quickly The software here was designed with the core alignment functions one click from the start screen, so the number of steps between a car arriving and a live reading is small. The diagnostic layer runs underneath it: errors are detected as they happen and, where the system can, compensated without interrupting the technician; where it cannot, the operator is told what needs attention rather than left with a plausible-looking result. Three of the software tools earn specific mention because each removes a familiar workaround. EZ-Toe allows the critical front individual toe to be adjusted without locking the steering column, which is how you get a level steering wheel every time instead of most times. Rolling radius checks for mismatched tire sizes, a genuine mechanical warning on an all-wheel-drive vehicle rather than a convenience feature. Cross diagonal checks for structural damage, which is the point at which an alignment job legitimately becomes a larger repair conversation. Cameras that keep up with the technician Automatic camera tracking means the cameras stay aimed at the targets when the lift is raised, so there is no walking back to adjust the beam mid-job. Video-speed imaging makes the compensation step fast rather than a pause in the work, and live readings remove the remeasure that a slower system forces after every adjustment. Each is a small subtraction from the cycle time, and alignment throughput is made almost entirely out of small subtractions. Cloud services and reporting The connected side of the machine supplies vehicle specifications and repair information, driver assistance system guidance, technical service bulletins, recall data, tire pressure monitoring information and sensor reset procedures, and it keeps its own software and specification database current. Reports can be printed, emailed or texted to the customer. That last point is quietly commercial: a printed before-and-after report is the easiest way to justify alignment work to a sceptical customer, and sending it to their phone is easier still. Perfect For High-end and specialist shops where marking a wheel costs more than the job earns. Alignment bays working with body shops, where the structural check turns into referred work. Busy tire and service centres that need setup measured in seconds and no adapter drawer to manage. Dealership service departments needing current specifications, bulletins and driver assistance guidance in the same tool. What is included The specification references both the AC200 and AC400 clamp ranges, which are separate clamp sets, and our data does not carry a definitive packing list for this listing. Confirm the clamp set, targets and any optional scanner with us in writing at the time of order. Specifications Power supply 230 VAC 1ph 50/60 Hz Track width 48-96" (1,219-2,438mm) Wheel base 79-180" (2,007-4,572mm) Wheel size (AC200) 12-24" (305-610 mm) Tire size (AC400) 19-39" (483-991 mm) Certification and compliance, stated honestly The product data we hold for this aligner does not list a third-party safety certification, and we are not going to imply one. That is a statement about our records rather than a claim about the machine: a manufacturer's own declaration of conformity is a different document from an independent listing issued by a testing body, and only the second is what an insurer, a dealership programme or a local inspector normally asks to see. If your work is tied to a manufacturer's certified alignment programme, or your insurer specifies listed equipment, ask us before ordering and we will chase the documentation from the manufacturer rather than guess at it. Electrical installation is a separate question again, and it is governed by your local code and your electrician, not by us. Delivery, installation and site access This machine ships as freight, not as a parcel, and it travels crated on a pallet. Delivery, setup and instruction arrangements for Hofmann equipment are set out in the Pick Up and Delivery section further down this page, and warehouse collection is offered on much of this range — tell us at the time of order which you want, because the two are booked differently. Shipping is to addresses in the contiguous United States. Three things are the buyer's responsibility whichever route you choose. Measure the path from the delivery point to the working position, including door widths and any turn a crated machine has to make. If the delivery address is a home rather than a commercial address, say so before you order — residential delivery is arranged differently and a residential fee applies. And inspect the crate before you sign: note any damage, crushed corner or shifted strapping on the delivery receipt at the moment of delivery, and photograph it. A signed clean receipt makes a damage claim very difficult to pursue afterwards, and that is the single most common way a buyer ends up out of pocket on freight equipment. Warranty Warranty terms for this machine are published on our warranty claims page rather than quoted here, so that what you read is the current policy rather than a figure copied into a description and left to go stale. One practical warning that applies to every powered machine we sell: if something fails, contact us before disassembling the unit or attempting an internal repair. Stripping an assembly down before the claim is raised routinely voids the cover, and it also destroys the evidence the manufacturer needs to see.
