Fluval Foam for the Fluval 405 provides effective mechanical filtration by straining particulate waste. This foam layer prevents debris from clogging other filter media prematurely, while concurrently fostering biological activity in its porous structure. Designed for durability, Fluval Foam maintains water clarity and facilitates a healthy aquarium environment. Rinsing the foam on a monthly basis, or as needed, helps preserve its biological function. It is important to rinse in aged aquarium water to avoid disrupting the established beneficial bacteria. Over time, the foam's pores will deteriorate, leading to clogging; therefore, alternating its replacement is essential for optimal performance. Key Features: Efficiently strains particulate waste to protect other filter media. Encourages biological filtration within its porous structure. Easy to maintain through monthly rinsing in aged aquarium water. Durable design promotes long-term aquarium health. The Fluval Foam is an integral component for maintaining a clean and healthy aquatic environment. By facilitating both mechanical and biological filtration, it minimizes maintenance and supports a balanced ecosystem within your aquarium.
