Corghi TT80 Wheel Lift For Balancer A hand lever, not a foot pedal — and that is the point Lifting a wheel assembly onto a balancer shaft is the single most injury-prone movement in a tire bay. It is done dozens of times a day, at the wrong height, with a load that is heavy, round and has no good handhold. The TT80 is a pneumatic wheel lift that takes that movement away — and the detail worth noticing is how you control it. Height is set with a manual control lever rather than a foot pedal. That sounds trivial until you have used both: a foot pedal requires the operator to stand in one place and balance while operating it, whereas a hand lever lets the technician adjust height with the wheel still steadied and the feet planted. Over a day of repetitions, that is the difference between an aid and an aid you actually use. Vertical and horizontal, because one alone is not enough Plenty of lifting aids raise a load. Fewer solve the second half of the problem, which is getting the wheel over the shaft once it is at height. The TT80 provides a maximum lifting height of 19.685" (500 mm) and a maximum horizontal travel of 23" (585 mm). The horizontal figure is the one that matters most in practice: with 23" of travel the wheel can be brought across and lined up over the spindle without the technician taking the weight to move it sideways. Lift alone would still leave the heaviest part of the job — the awkward, twisting placement — being done by hand. Maximum lifting weight is 176 lbs (80 kg). That covers passenger, SUV and motorcycle assemblies comfortably, and it is a useful margin above the wheel weight limits most car and light truck balancers are rated for, so the lift is unlikely to be the constraint in your bay. Confirm the working air pressure before you order Published figures for the working pressure differ. Both are set out below, each attributed to its source: Figure Specification table Manufacturer description Compressed air supply 10 bar 145 psi (10 bar) Working pressure 6 bar a working range of 87 to 116 psi (6 to 8 bar) The supply figures match. The working pressure does not: the table gives a single value where the description gives a band with a higher ceiling. For most shops with a normal compressor this makes no practical difference, but if your air system runs close to the bottom of that band, or if you are sizing a regulator for this unit specifically, ask us to confirm the working pressure from the manufacturer's documentation before you order. Both figures are printed here exactly as published. What it changes in the bay The productivity case for a wheel lift is usually made in terms of cycle time, and that is real — a technician who is not wrestling a wheel is a technician doing the next job. The stronger case is the one that does not show up in a time study. Repetitive lifting injuries do not arrive on the day they are caused; they accumulate, and they take out experienced people who are hard to replace. A pneumatic lift makes the heavy part of wheel balancing something the machine does every single time, including at the end of a long shift when a technician's own judgement about what they can safely lift is at its worst. There is a quality argument too. A wheel that is placed onto the shaft in a controlled way, rather than heaved onto it, is less likely to be presented at an angle or to knock the shaft — and a knocked shaft is exactly what puts a balancer out of calibration. Careful placement protects both the rim's finish and the machine you are placing it on. Will It Fit? The unit weighs 101 lbs (46kg) net, which is light enough to be positioned by two people and heavy enough to stay put in use. No overall dimensions, mounting pattern or footprint are published in this listing, so if you are planning a tight installation alongside an existing balancer, ask us for the manufacturer's drawing rather than working from an assumption. The customer is responsible for the air supply: a line to where the lift will stand, filtered and regulated to the working pressure discussed above. Compressed air in a tire bay carries moisture and compressor oil, and both shorten the life of a pneumatic cylinder, so filtration is not optional if you want the unit to last. Perfect For Tire shops with high daily wheel counts, where the lifting is the bottleneck rather than the balancing. Workshops handling large SUV and light truck assemblies near the heavier end of the range. Small teams where one technician has to manage a wheel alone with nobody to help lift. Employers taking manual-handling seriously and looking for equipment rather than a policy document. What's in the Box The listing describes the pneumatic lift with its manual control lever and nothing further — no hoses, fittings, regulator, filter or mounting hardware are itemised in the product data. Plan on supplying the shop-side air connection yourself, and ask us for the packing list if you need to know precisely what arrives before you schedule the installation. Since the unit raises a load, it is worth being especially clear about that rather than leaving the reader to assume approvals exist because the writing sounds official. The absence of a document here is not proof that none exists — only that we hold none. If your insurer, your health-and-safety policy or a local rule requires documented approval for lifting equipment in the workplace, treat that as a question to settle before purchase: ask us for the manufacturer's paperwork, and confirm the requirement with the body imposing it. Shipping and Delivery The TT80 ships to addresses in the lower 48 states with the cost calculated at checkout for your own address. At 101 lbs (46kg) it is beyond a one-person lift, so have a second pair of hands or a pallet jack available when it arrives. Where the shipment travels by freight, a residential delivery address carries a residential fee, shown to you at checkout. Inspect the packaging before you sign for it and record anything you find on the delivery paperwork while the driver is still present — damage discovered after a clean signature is much harder to recover. Warranty This listing does not publish a warranty term, and we are not going to state one we cannot source. Ask before ordering and we will confirm the manufacturer's coverage in writing; the store's claims process is on our warranty claims page. And whatever the term, do not open a cylinder or a control valve on a unit you intend to claim on. Photograph the fault, contact us first, and leave the assembly untouched — disassembly before a claim is registered is the most common reason a legitimate one is refused.
