Corghi TS24 Tire Dunking Tank A dunk tank is a simple thing that has to survive a hard life: it holds water permanently, gets splashed constantly, and lives in a corner of the shop nobody dries out. That is why the specification worth reading on the TS24 is not a capacity figure but a manufacturing one — it is finished with a cataphoresis painting cycle followed by a gloss coat. Cataphoresis, or e-coat, is the electrophoretic process used on vehicle bodyshells: the part is immersed and the coating is deposited electrically, so it reaches weld seams, internal corners and edges that a sprayed finish never covers evenly. On a vessel that is wet for its whole working life, that is the difference between a tank that still looks like equipment in year eight and one that is weeping rust down a seam by year three. Two drains, and why that is not a trivial detail The TS24 comes with an air filter and two drains, provided for emptying and for cleaning. Anyone who has owned a tank with one badly placed drain knows what the second one is worth. Dunk tank water does not stay clean — it collects tire lubricant, road grime, rubber dust and whatever came off the last set of wheels — and a tank that cannot be fully emptied and rinsed is a tank that gets topped up instead of changed. Water you cannot see through is water you cannot spot a bubble in, and spotting the bubble is the entire purpose of the machine. Two drains turn a water change from a bailing job into a scheduled task. The air filter matters for the same unglamorous reason. Shop air carries moisture and compressor oil, and an unfiltered feed puts both into the pneumatic circuit that raises and lowers the wheel holder. Filtration is on the machine rather than being something you have to remember to plumb in. Air-operated wheel holder The tank is air operated, with a control for raising and lowering the wheel holder. This is the ergonomic argument for buying a purpose-built tank instead of improvising: a wet assembly at the top of the quoted range is heavy, awkward and slippery, and lowering it into water by hand is how backs and knuckles get hurt. With an air-operated holder, the technician positions the wheel once and the machine does the lifting, which also means the assembly enters and leaves the water in a controlled way rather than being dropped in. One thing the listing does not state is the air pressure the tank requires. We have not invented a figure for it. If your compressed air supply is marginal, ask us to confirm the requirement from the manufacturer's documentation before you order. Assembled the way your bay is laid out The TS24 is designed to be assembled by the user, and the assembly step includes choosing where the control pedals sit. That sounds minor until you have worked a machine whose controls are on the wrong side of the bay for the way your benches run, or for a left-handed technician. Being able to decide pedal position at assembly rather than accepting the factory's guess means the tank fits your workflow instead of your workflow bending around it. Will It Fit? The tank measures 59" x 63" x 75" and weighs 617 lbs. The specification table gives those three figures without labelling which is which; the product's own spec fields record them as 59" wide, 63" long and 75" high, and that is how we have read them here. Confirm the orientation with us if you are planning a tight installation. Two siting considerations are your responsibility. First, floor: 617 lbs empty, plus a full tank of water, is a meaningful point load and it does not move once it is filled — decide where it lives before you fill it. Second, drainage: the two drains are only useful if there is somewhere for the water to go, so put the tank within reach of a floor drain or plan how you will pump it out. Also check your door and aisle widths against the 59" and 63" dimensions before delivery day. Wheel capacity The TS24 takes wheels up to 53" (1,346 mm) in diameter and up to 19.5" (495 mm) wide. That envelope covers passenger, SUV and light truck assemblies comfortably, and reaches into larger sizes that a bench-top bubble test simply cannot handle. If your work regularly includes agricultural or heavy commercial wheels, measure a representative assembly against those two numbers before ordering rather than assuming. Perfect For Tire shops that need to prove a slow leak to a customer rather than describe it. General repair shops diagnosing intermittent pressure loss where a soapy-water spray has already failed to find it. Fleet and municipal workshops testing inner tubes and wheels in volume. Restoration and classic specialists still running tubed wheels, where the tube itself is the thing being tested. What's in the Box The listing states the tank is supplied with the air filter and two drains and with the air-operated wheel holder control, for assembly by the user with the pedal position of your choosing. It does not list hoses, fittings or a regulator, so plan on providing the shop-side plumbing. Ask us if you need the full packing list before you order. Specifications Maximum wheel diameter 53" (1,346 mm) Maximum wheel width 19.5" (495 mm) Dimensions 59" x 63" x 75" Weight 617 lbs Operation Air, with wheel holder raise and lower control Finish Cataphoresis and gloss painting cycle Certification, stated plainly No certification, listing or third-party approval is claimed for this product anywhere in its data, and we are not going to imply one. That is not a mark against the tank — a dunk tank is a passive water vessel with a pneumatic lift, not a load-bearing machine that holds a vehicle in the air, and the approval schemes that matter for lifting equipment do not generally apply to it. If your insurer, your local authority or a fleet policy requires documented approval for shop equipment of this kind, ask us for the manufacturer's documentation before you buy rather than assuming it exists. Shipping and Delivery The TS24 travels as freight to addresses in the lower 48 states, and at 617 lbs it is a truck delivery rather than a parcel. Your freight cost is calculated live at checkout from your own ZIP code. You will need a way to get it off the trailer — a forklift, a dock, or an arrangement to pick the shipment up from the carrier's terminal. If the address is residential, a residential fee applies and is shown at checkout. Check the crate over before you sign for it and write any damage you find onto the bill of lading while the driver is still there; a clean signature is very difficult to argue with later. Warranty The manufacturer's warranty term is not stated in this listing, and we have not guessed at one — ask us and we will confirm the coverage in writing before you order. Our claims process is on the warranty claims page. If something does go wrong, leave it alone: photograph the fault, get in touch, and do not strip a valve, a cylinder or a seam before the claim is open, because a disassembled part is usually an uninsurable one.
