Corghi HD700 Heavy-Duty Tire Changer Corghi HD700 Heavy-Duty Tire Changer What separates a heavy-duty tire changer from a large car machine is not power. It is what happens to a wheel assembly weighing as much as a small car when the technician is not holding it. On the HD700 the carriage translates left and right hydraulically and then locks - an integrated safety lock system, not friction and not the operator's care. With up to 1,543 lbs (700 kg) mounted, that positive hold is the feature the rest of the machine is arranged around. Everything else follows from the same intent. The HD700 is an electrohydraulic, semi-automatic machine for commercial and industrial tire work: trucks, buses and the assemblies that come off fleet equipment. Hydraulic drive means the torque does not sag as the job gets harder, and semi-automatic means the operator, not a program, decides what happens next when a bead does not behave. Will It Fit? Start with the electrical requirement, because our data is unusually specific about it and it is the thing that stops installations: 208 vac plus or minus 10 percent, three phase, on a 30 amp circuit. That is a dedicated branch circuit, not a spare outlet, and if your building has no three-phase service the HD700 is not the machine for the bay. Establish this before anything else - it is cheaper to find out now than on the day an electrician walks in. The machine weighs 1,224 lbs, so the route in and the final position both need thinking about: a pallet truck on a smooth slab is one thing, a forklift and a ramp another. Our record does not give a footprint or an overall height for the HD700. We are not going to estimate them for you, because a bay laid out around a guessed dimension is a problem discovered at delivery. Ask and we will get the installation drawing from the manufacturer. Confirming your slab, your door width and your supply is the customer's responsibility. The carriage, and why the lock matters Hydraulic left-right translation lets the technician bring the tooling to the wheel precisely rather than muscling the wheel to the tooling. The integrated safety lock is the other half: it prevents accidental movement during operation. Put those together and the working method changes. The operator positions, locks, and then works with both hands on the job rather than one hand steadying a carriage that could creep under load. This is not an abstract safety argument. Heavy assemblies do not give warning before they move, the forces involved at bead-break are large and asymmetric, and the injuries in this category of work are crush injuries. A carriage that is positively held is a different machine to work on from one that is merely heavy. Sized for commercial wheels, not scaled-up car wheels The turntable spindle takes rims from 14 inches to 26 inches (660 mm), covering the great majority of truck and industrial fitments, and tires up to 63 inches (1,600 mm) in overall diameter. Those two numbers together are what you check a heavy-duty machine against: the rim range decides what can be clamped, the tire diameter decides what can be turned without fouling. The wheel lifter is rated at 1,543 lbs. Compare that against the heaviest assembly your shop genuinely handles rather than the average - the average is never the one that hurts someone. Bead-breaking force is not stated in our data and we are not going to characterise it with an adjective in place of a figure; if that specification decides your purchase, ask us and we will get it in writing from the manufacturer. Semi-automatic, and controls where the work is All hydraulic functions - rotation, clamping, bead breaking - run from one control module positioned so the operator is not walking away from a loaded machine to reach a control. That is the practical benefit of the semi-automatic layout: the technician keeps authority over rotation and pressure at exactly the moments when a corroded bead or an out-of-round rim makes a programmed cycle the wrong answer. Construction is reinforced steel throughout, from the hydraulic cylinders to the turntable, and the footprint is compact for the category - one reason the HD700 turns up in shops that would struggle to house a full truck-tire bay. Optional clamps with plastic inserts are available for protecting alloy rims; our data lists them as optional, so treat them as a separate line rather than assuming they arrive with the machine. Perfect For Fleet maintenance shops servicing their own trucks, trailers and buses. Commercial tire dealers handling steel and alloy truck wheels through the day. Industrial and municipal workshops maintaining heavy plant on site. Shops with three-phase power - the 208 vac three-phase, 30 amp requirement is not negotiable. What's in the Box Our data describes the machine itself: the electrohydraulic power system, the heavy-duty carriage with hydraulic translation and safety lock, the turntable spindle, the wheel lifter and the control module. The alloy-rim protection clamps with plastic inserts are described as optional, not standard. Our record names no other loose accessories, so anything you are relying on - adaptors, inflation equipment, additional clamps - should be confirmed with us in writing before you order rather than assumed. That is a description of our data rather than a finding about the machine - the manufacturer may hold approvals that were never sent to us. We will not imply a certification we cannot put in front of you on request. Heavy tire equipment is a category where a workplace inspector, an insurer or a fleet safety policy may require a named document, so if that is your situation, tell us which one before you order and we will obtain the manufacturer's written answer. Shipping and delivery Freight only, to the lower 48 states, quoted live at checkout so the rate is current rather than an old estimate. At 1,224 lbs you will need a forklift or a dock, or you arrange terminal pickup with the carrier - this is not a machine that comes off the back of a truck by hand. Residential delivery carries an additional fee, shown at checkout before you pay. Inspect the crate before signing and write any damage on the bill of lading at the moment of delivery, because a clean signed receipt is what any later claim will be measured against. Warranty Warranty terms are not stated in our product data for this machine, so we are not going to paraphrase them. The warranty claims page explains how a claim is opened with us, and we will confirm the manufacturer's current terms in writing if you ask before ordering. Independent of the terms: do not disassemble the machine before the claim is filed. On hydraulic equipment, opening the system to investigate a fault is the fastest way to convert a covered failure into a rejected claim. Document it, contact us, and let the claim be raised first.
