Corghi EM9250 Digital Wheel Balancer Balanced, and you cannot see that it was Every adhesive weight a technician sticks on the outer face of an alloy wheel is a small cosmetic compromise the customer paid for. The EM9250's answer is Hidden Weight: the program divides the external-side adhesive weight into two equivalent weights and places them in hidden locations behind the spokes. The wheel comes off the balancer correctly balanced and looking untouched. On a shop that services alloy wheels on customer cars, that single program is the difference between a job that is finished and a job that generates a phone call. Everything else about the EM9250 supports that idea: it is a high-volume balancer built so that the fast way of working and the careful way of working are the same way. FSP: the machine reads the wheel, not the keyboard Manual entry of wheel dimensions is where balancing errors are actually born. A distance figure typed in a hurry, or a diameter read off a worn sidewall, produces a technically perfect balance of the wrong wheel. FSP — Fast Smart Positioning — takes electronic input of wheel diameter and distance directly and activates the appropriate balancing programs automatically, so the setup step that most often goes wrong stops being a typing exercise. AWC, Automatic Width Calculation, extends that: the balancer calculates wheel width even when the external AWD sensor, which is an optional accessory, is not fitted. That is worth understanding when you compare machines, because plenty of balancers advertise automatic width and then require the sensor to deliver it. Here the base machine still calculates it and simply takes less operator time to do so. A double display control panel puts mode selection and the essential functions where the technician can see them from working position, and an ergonomic weight tray keeps clip weights, adhesive strips and tools organised instead of scattered across the bench. Three ways to place a weight, and OPT Flash Adhesive weights can be positioned three ways on the EM9250: with the weight holder clip, using the 6 o'clock laser indicator, or manually at the 12 o'clock position. Technicians develop preferences, and a machine that insists on one method slows down whoever prefers another. OPT Flash addresses a different problem entirely — road noise that survives a correct balance. It lets the operator alter the position of the tire on the rim to optimise quietness, which is the fix for an assembly whose tire and rim runouts happen to add together rather than cancel. Without it, a wheel that balances perfectly on the machine can still come back as a customer complaint. Three figures to confirm before you order Published figures for three items differ between sources. Each is set out below exactly as published: 165 lbs (75 kg), twice The table gives this figure as both "Max. Wheel Weight (ground fastening)" and "Machine Weight (without accessories)". Those are unrelated measurements, so confirm which one applies before you rely on either. Two rows, one label Two rows are both titled "Rim Diameter Setting Range", reading 1.5-20" (38-508 mm) and 1-35" (25-889 mm). The first is almost certainly rim width, but we have not relabelled the manufacturer's table. Maximum wheel width The table says 23.6" (600 mm) with the guard fitted; the store's own spec field says 24". The rim width setting range stops at 20". If your work sits near any of those limits — heavy wheels, very wide wheels, or an installation where the machine's own weight matters — ask us to confirm the figure from the manufacturer's documentation before you buy. Will It Fit? Power supply is listed as 115 V or 230 V, 50/60 Hz, single phase, with a total power absorption of 100 W. The wide voltage window is genuinely useful: it means the machine is not fussy about which circuit in the building you put it on, and 100 W is a trivial load. A dedicated outlet within reach of the machine's position, and a floor flat enough to bolt or stand it on securely, are your responsibility. Allow for the wheel guard's swing above and behind the machine, and for the maximum wheel-to-machine distance of 10.82" (275 mm) when you plan clearance in front. The shaft is 40 mm, which is what determines cone and adapter compatibility — check any existing cone set against that before you assume it carries over. Measurement Spinning speed runs 90 - 130 rpm, average measurement time is 7 seconds, unbalance measurement accuracy is 0.0353 oz (1 g), and the maximum unbalance value calculated is 999 g. In practice the accuracy figure is the one to read: a balancer that resolves to a single gram is resolving finer than the increments most weights come in, which means the limiting factor becomes the technician's weight selection rather than the machine. Perfect For High-volume tire shops where FSP acquisition removes a setup step from every single wheel. Dealership service departments handling alloy wheels on new cars, where Hidden Weight protects the finish. Performance and wheel specialists who need OPT Flash to chase noise a plain balance cannot fix. General repair shops upgrading from a manual-entry balancer to automatic acquisition. What's in the Box The listing describes the double display control panel, the FSP wheel dimension detection, the Hidden Weight, OPT Flash and AWC programs, the weight tray and the front support base as part of the machine. The AWD external sensor is explicitly an optional accessory and is not included. Cones, adapters and any wheel lift are not listed — ask us for the exact packing list before you order if you are relying on a particular accessory. We would rather say that outright than let a reader infer a badge from confident writing. It is not a claim that no approval exists — only that none is documented here. If your insurer, your fleet policy or a local rule requires documented approval for workshop equipment, ask us to obtain the manufacturer's paperwork before you commit, and check the requirement at source. Shipping and Delivery The EM9250 ships freight to addresses in the lower 48 states, with the cost calculated live at checkout for your ZIP code rather than estimated. Arrange unloading in advance — a forklift, a dock, or collection from the carrier's terminal, which is frequently the simplest route for a workshop without lifting equipment on site. A residential delivery address adds a residential fee, shown at checkout before you pay. Look the crate over before signing: note damage on the bill of lading in front of the driver, because that document is what a freight claim rests on. Warranty No warranty term appears in this listing and we have not supplied one from memory. Ask before you order and we will put the manufacturer's coverage for this model in writing; the store's process lives on the warranty claims page. One thing holds regardless of the term — do not open a suspect assembly before the claim is registered. Photograph the symptom, keep the machine intact, and contact us; a part that has already been apart is rarely covered. Product Features Digital display - A double display control panel FSP - Wheel dimension detection Hidden Weight - Keeps rims looking great by dividing the external side balancing adhesive weight into two equivalent weights applied in hidden locations behind the spokes. OPT Flash - Minimizes road noise by allowing the operator to alter the position of the tire on the rim in order to optimise quietness. AWC (Auto Width Calculation) - Automatic calculation of the width (AWC function) even if the AWD* (*optional accessory) external sensor is not present. The wheel balancer calculates the width by reducing the operational time. Product Specifications Max. Wheel Diameter w/Guard 44" (1117 mm) Max Wheel Width w/Guard 23.6" (600 mm) Max.
