What is a 21Gx60mm Cog PDO Thread? A 21Gx60mm Cog Thread is a type of absorbable polydioxanone suture used in thread lifts, a non-surgical aesthetic procedure for skin lifting and tightening. PDO cog threads have barbs that provide immediate support to lift parts of the face. This is green cog thread. The 21-gauge needle is suitable for delicate areas where finer, less invasive threads are needed. The 60mm thread length is typically used for smaller treatment areas where more precision is required, such as the brows, under the eyes or along the nasolabial folds. How thread lifts work A PDO thread lift is a procedure that uses dissolvable sutures to rejuvenate and lift sagging skin. Threads are medical sutures that have been used in surgery for many years. They are inserted into the SMAS layers to help shape facial contours and make the skin tighter. They proliferate collagen by stimulating fibroblast. This improves skin elasticity, reduces fine wrinkles and brightens the complexion. As the threads are absorbed by the body, they continue to promote collagen regeneration, offering a natural lifting effect. While the results aren’t as dramatic as facelift surgery, the procedure is quick, with minimal recovery time, making it a popular option for non-invasive facial rejuvenation.
